Frost is a mystery to me

Since, say, the BCS era, has there ever been a G5 coach publicly turn down a bona fide P5 head coaching offer?

TCU's coach is the only one I can think of, but, he took his team to a P5 conference in the shakeup, so, it was a good gamble. Pre-BCS I think, but, Leavitt turned down Bama to stay here which is astounding.

He hasn't been publicly offered OR publicly turned down anything.

But why is this a mystery?  He is going to Nebraska and always has been.

And as for the turning down UF, he's headed to Nebraska so he simply told them through back channels, it wasn't going to happen.

Watching games this weekend, I THINK I heard one of the announcers say that Nebraska said they would not talk to him till after the conference championship game.

Zero chance someone from Nebraska hasn't reached out to someone from his team to gauge interest. No way Nebraska is just going to sit on their hands and wait another week and watch other coaches get hired around the country without knowing where they stand.

100% agree. Maybe the comment was about a "formal" contact? Maybe I was still recuperating from Friday night.

Exactly. Nebraska will "formally" meet with him after the AAC game, but they're not offering him a job without knowing what his answer is.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
