Gilbert killed this offense and Strong is too **** conservative. If we had played any decent teams this year we would have lost a few already. If Strong stays we are in a world of hurt when Flowers leaves. I wanted Strong...I'll admit I was wrong.

That said, we still control our destiny in the East. We should dominate the cupcakes up to UCF and the winner is in the championship.

The Peach is a possibility, but St. Pete is more likely.

One of those cupcakes is Tulsa, who doesn't have a great record, but they did smash Houston and nearly beat SMU. Better not overlook them, or we could be out of the race before we even get to the UCF game.

The offense was fine. We just really miss a running back who can complement Flowers.

4th and 24. Our defense sucks

Totally agree.  I'm focused strictly on UConn.  We're coming off a loss (ala 2007), playing on the road in colder weather and Edsall seems to have had our number.  And with CCS/CSG calling ultra conservative games, anything can happen.

We did but we are 7-1. We should be 8-0 but I can’t remember a season prior where I wouldn’t be happy with 7-1.

I recall hearing what a bad game day coach Strong was when we hired him. I thought, with FL recruits, he should be able to “Phillip Fulmer” and “ Mack Brown” everybody. Out recruit people and just stumble his way through game day. That should be good for 8-9 wins a season. I think that is what we have.

One positive is no one is going to try and steal him away. Every Scott Frost and Tom Herman superstar coach that comes in the AAC is off to greener pastures within 2-3 seasons. That isn’t going to happen with CCS.

Debatable whether that's a positive

why is that a positive? give me a young aggressive coach any day. I said when we hired him that it wasn't a good fit. total 180 in philosophies. He did turn D around quicker than I thought but I knew that with a conservative defensive minded coach we would get games where he would sit on the ball and try to win with his defense.

Definitely debatable. I think in the reality of the AAC, I wonder how much should you value continuity?

Would you rather mostly underperform, win a championship once and a while and generally always go bowling? Or would you like to go through super highs and super lows when coaches come and go and then you make a bad hire that sets your program back.

I know LSU hates losing to Alabama every year but were they really better for firing Les Miles although he wasn’t as good of a game day coach as Saban?

This coaching staff made a great offense into "their perception" of how things ought to be run. That was how they failed at Texas.

The D, we improved from last year (we are more aggressive), but we still disappear like we did last year and the year before. We didn't lose in the last minute; we lost in the second half.

Houston is an okay team. They aren't great. Oliver is great, but their team doesn't play great.

We've been a very average team this year. We got away with it because of a soft schedule.

This is not the same team that won the bowl game against South Carolina. And I'm not crushed by this defeat, because I knew we had offensive problems very early on. And I never trusted our D to win games for us. I love our guys but I never bought into the D being all that great.

With this kind of coaching, you'll need 5-star players at every position to go undefeated. Wait --they had that at Texas.

The players didn't lose this game; the coaching staff did.

Hey, 7-1 is still better than when Holtz was here. -------Yes, this is where I'm going now for comfort!

The first year with Holtz was okay because the Leavitt players were still there and we went 8-5. THe full HOltzing did really begin until year 2. Stay tuned because that could be next year.

The offense was fine if you have 2014 talent. The defense was gashed because they had been on the field forever

give me the highs and lows over 8-4 9-3 every year

nothing says this coaching staff can win a conference championship. Strong never won one outright at UofL. always split. his first split in 2011 included losses to FIU and Marshall. his second one in 2012 included losses to UConn (5-7) and Syracuse
