Now it looks like Xcwt and Oregon are going to take a loss

And my schadenfreude is lessened because it makes SDSU look better.

Oregon needs to learn some defense

You'd think they'd be better than this

Remember in 2007 when every pipe dream upset fell into our laps for the first six weeks of the season? This is the polar opposite season

Remember when we had the opportunity to play against and beat the #17 team (SEC) and #5 team (Big East) as well as UNC (ACC) while we were in a BCS conference all on national televised games (ESPN & ESPN2) in those first 6 weeks? THAT'S why we were able to do that in 2007. Until we lost to Rutgers and slid for 3 games, we deserved everything we had achieved regardless of what was happening around us. Yes, other teams losing is most always a requirement to take their spots in the polls but that happens every season, teams lose and other teams seize opportunities. Had we not lost those 3 games, we would've become the #1 team after our win against Syracuse on 11/10/07 and #1 Ohio St lost to Illinois that day and fell to #7. It would have been us playing #2 LSU in the Superdome on 1/7/08 in front of 79k people on FOX. If we were able to schedule and beat the #17 team and #5 team and be in a P5 conference this season, everything we have accomplished is 100% repeatable. We aren't a broken program, we just need to get the hell out of the AAC, into a P5 conference and all of our problems that have plagued us are solved. It is doable, just need to get someone to let us in!

The rankings in college football make no sense. Anyone watching San Diego State should be able to see they aren't a good team

StonyBrook, anyone?

I don't dispute anything in there, we should've actually been ranked number one at that point going in to Rutgers.

But bottom line, back then we would not have been number to even with those victories if other teams have not lost. The pollsters were not fast to rush us up the rankings, they just had no choice.

That's what I was comparing to this season, seems like no one in front of us is losing so we're never going to get an opportunity to move up regardless of who we play.

But again, you're absolutely correct, we need to find a way to get a better schedule in the future, one way or another

It is looking more that SB is not a bad team. It is the SJSU game that bothers me the most.
