Speaking of computers, The Massey computer composite with 23 systems reporting, so far, has USF #16, San Diego State #20 and UCF #31.

This year, they have about 50 systems reporting to them in all, so those rankings will likely change somewhat.

I believe that USF was the only team in history to be ranked in the BCS top 25 who did not get invited to a bowl game.

We had a "conditional" bowl bid from C-USA to go to Hawaii, but in the end that didn't happen.

Being left out then, is second only to losing @RU in 2007.

Are you sure we were ranked that year in the BCS?

This board was in existence back then, but those posts are no longer in our archive.

I'm sure that some of the old members remember threads about that and it stuck with me.

This was a thread from 2009 talking about what happened in 2002, but it does not mention BCS ranking.

If you are talking 2002, the BCS rankings only went to 15 and we are not listed.

OK, that would explain the situation.

IF it had been based on the top 25 teams, I believe USF would have been ranked #24.
