1. They are supposed to better than Illinois, according to the preseason (Athlon).

2. They have good receivers and good a RB. Though, that troublesome QB is no longer around.

3. They will be feisty and know our guys from the last few meetings.

4. Their new coach is the defensive coordinator from the foul lizards.

Yeah, they sucked air in the previous games. But we didn't do all that great either. All I'm saying is this is no cake-walk...

They got worked by Notre Dame and needed a late score to beat Villanova. They might be on par with Illinois.

If we're as good as we think we should be this shouldn't be close.

The most important team unit isn't even listed on that chart:  QB.

Advantage USF

It will be a good test for special teams as they have a good amount of blocks the last few years.

If the team comes out focused and brings a good game its a blowout.

Yeah that chart is wrong because apparently the secondary is their worst unit.

That is the single thing I am the most fearful of with this team. Special Teams blocking. We have a Large Adult Punter, and a well above average kicker in Emilio. If we can give them time to kick they can be very effective.

I haven't seen where they are so much better than Illinois. Only difference being a conference game ups the intensity a bit.

They lost their 3 best players in their top RB, QB, and Reddick on defense.

They only put 16 points on the board in 2 of their first 3 games. They were extremely lucky to beat UMASS. If you didn't see the game, UMASS receivers flat out dropped 2 easy TD passes and their kicker missed 3 FGs.

I think people around here are still underestimating this team  defense has been great.  With the exception of the first quarter of the season/game vs SJSU, we totally dominated that game.  Stonybrook was indeed sloppy, but  they limited Flowers purposely. Once unleashed, the offense put up the 2nd most yards in team history last week.

To me, the only shaky unit is kick blocking.

UMASS had a lot of yards throwing to their slot receiver.  Our best receiver, arguably, is McCants.  I would love to see him and Scantling have break out games on national TV.

Also, don't forget Flowers was limited in the 2nd half last year and Kean had to come in.

Throw in the home field, better defense with a competent DC plus the revenge factor, I am expecting to cover the 19.5 point spread.

You can bet that they are lobbying the coach to let the FB try to end some careers of our defensive guys by diving at their knees to open up some running lanes. If they come with that BS, they will run the ball on us and probably have us doubting our new and improved defense by the end of the game, but, we'll still win the shootout if it comes to that.
