UCF is really playing up their undefeated season on twitter.

They had an amazing season, but calling themselves the National Champions seems a bit much. Hopefully one day a g5 team will actually get a shot at the real championship.

I’m happy about what UCF did, personally I think it only makes us look better.  We came very close to beating them and dominated for much of the game.  We probably gave them the biggest scare they had all season.

Didn't want to start a UCF topic, so, I'll post my thoughts here...

I see pictures of Frost hoisting the trophy from the game and read some of his quotes... I think if I were him, after the game, I would have quietly retreated to the locker room and let the players have all of the glory for the win... It seems a bit "look at me" with him out there celebrating with a bunch of guys he just abandoned. I don't know, it's weird that he coached the game, but, I feel like he should have done so with as little attention as possible. That's just me though I guess.

Fair enough.

I agree there is a level to subjectivity seen in this sport you dont always get in other sports. I think its one of the things that makes the sport great, we can banter on the internet instead of getting work done about who the top 4 teams should be.

Just like when they went from the BCS to the playoff, I think in 10 years we will miss this, mainly because the landscape is going to be different the school we support won't even be on the peripheral of the conversation. The top 56-64 schools are going to take their ball and go play with themselves and the rest of the 1A programs who have invested millions will be left as a "B" league.

So you're saying we shouldn't build an OCS? :hijack:

If that was a reg season game, it would probably mean something. In a non-playoff bowl, not so much .... If the playoffs had been expanded this year, UCF may have had a case but they weren't a top 4 team.

And we know that how?

Because they weren’t voted as such under the rules of the system they play in.

That’s how I’m sure they weren’t in the top 4. Because they weren’t in the top 4.
