I'm in. But it would only tell us who is the best of those 24. What about #25 who got shafted?

Which brings these questions to mind;

If/when the playoffs go to eight, do you add bowl games? Do you change the requirements to be bowl eligible? Do you increase the number of games these kids have to play in? Do they put a whole lot more emphasis on SoS?

But what if the second best team in a conference is better than the other 9 who made it? Then you're not giving the worthy teams a chance because they play in a tougher conference. Not fair.

Sounds like the "good" teams should getb together to rearrange the conferences to make this more fair.

Isn’t that supposed to be the SEC?

There could be "power" conferences for the really good ones. Something like that. I'm just spit-balling.

Absolutely. It's what makes college football fun long after the whistle. One of my close friends is a UCFer and we had a long debate where I made fun of him endlessly over the National Champ discussion, but it ended with us pulling up the coaches poll where about half the voters are not P5 coaches. Only one of them voted for UCF in the top 4 that we found. So one of my points was, even the people with the most to gain by UCF's rise don't think they were a top 4 team.

Just curious, were any of them coaches of teams that UCF beat?

Off the top of my head, Houston was on the list from the AAC. Let me pull up the link.

https://www.usatoday.com/sports/ncaaf/ballots/

Maryland has them 10.

Houston has them 9.

Cincy has them 8.

ECU 7.

Tulsa 8.

Navy 10.

A few they played.

What everyone apparently still does not understand is even if the playoffs go to eight the AAC is still not getting in. They will give those spots to the P5. This year they would have put usc, Wisc, OSU, and PSU.

    We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
