As others have said - win and they will come wherever they play.

You'd think, though, if that was true, we'd have more than 14K season tickets sold following the most successful season in the history of the program, heading into, arguably, the most promising season in the history of the program ..... This has to be head scratching maddening for Athletics.

I really don't like how far the sidelines are from the field in this rendering.  Of course, there could be other sports/events that require the extra room to maximize utilization.

Cricket and Aussie Rules!

If they build it to host cricket, we could host Caribbean Premier League matches every year. I'm not joking on this, either. the International Cricketing Council would love to have a legitimate venue to play cricket at and Tampa has lots of connections to Caribbean destinations. Right now they're stuck relying on the very basic international stadium in Lauderhill. That would also ensure that Tampa was the center of cricket in the Americas. You could have a lease to host a CPL team every summer for two months (it's going on now), plus with the excellent winter weather they could hold international matches from December to April when teams come to tour the West Indies.

And yes-the US team would likely make this their home base.

Cricket right now equals MONEY, especially with the Indian population in Tampa. The Indian Premiere League has talked about hosting matches in the USA too. Bring the cricketing money!

No questions from the trustees.  Hope they are having off the record discussions.

Are we talking about current season ticket holders that don't go to campus or additional people that will start going to games because they are held on campus?  I believe the 12k or so season ticket holders aren't the problem.  And if people don't want to see USF football at Ray Jay I'm not sure they want to see it on campus.  As others have said - win and they will come wherever they play.

I think you might be surprised by how many Alumni / season ticket holders haven't been on campus since they graduated. I know a few that have no clue about the improvements in the last 25 - 30 years.

Colorado State seems to be the model.
