Can they? Yes. Phil Knight was willing to put up 10 million / yr for the right head coach so I imagine similarly money is no object for crucial staff. Will they? Who knows. Brady Hoke was set to make $700,000 / yr as DC so obviously we would pay Strong more than that. The X factor is Oregon booster pockets and Strong's buyout agreement with the horns. I really don't think they can. Frost was the highest paid assistant in there history and made $755k, you think they can more than double that?

It was just reported the Univ of ORegon has $ 4 million for assistan coach pool. You imagine he cannot spend more than half for a d coordinator. Anything close to $2million per year would make him the highest paid assistant in the ncaa. Arranda just got 1.8mil base at LSU.

I don't either, epsecially in Strongs position right now. Just pointing out that I don't think Oregon can match us in this scenario.

Some are in it for career moves .... May boil down to does Strong consider UO's DC a better career move than USF HC
