One could argue that since they are not paying attention after the 4 years of abysmal play that they are smarter than us!

Or lack of donors.

Very problematic, and I think a large part of the problem on why we can't have "nicer things."

Wow, been away for a couple of days and expected the usual board meltdown but was kind of shocked by this thread. Wouldn't have a had a problem if it was MG just expressing the disappointment in the way the team played but the "personalizing" with the 2007 team was pretty bush league. Fact is, that 2007 team had the college football world by the **** and **** the bed so I'm not sure I'd be bringing attention to it.

Just as a refresher, went back and checked the pbp of the start of the bed crapping that year. Everybody likes to point at the illegal propulsion as the game killer but I had forgotten that was in the first half. Reality was, down 27-30, with around a minute and a half left in game, we get the ball at midfield ........ and MG's offense promptly drove -27 yds, ending in an interception, that was basically a punt.

Year to year comparisons are pretty hard to realistically do

Hmm.. If they don't care, how can they be OUR fan base? Wouldn't they be somebody ELSE's fan base?

Part-time Bulls fans? Like the alum that are primarily nole and gator fans, but occasionally care what USF is doing.

Aside from us diehards I suspect the market and fan base have no idea who MG is.

Not necessarily. Almost a decade has passed since those days and it's totally conceivable that the market and a large portion of our fanbase who have jumped on the recent success, especially the younger ones, don't know the history of USF football ...

Offensive lineman got injured and I think was out for the rest of the season. Grothe was running for his life and took 9 sacks against Rutgers. I think the injury is what killed the season. We didn't have any depth.
