Main reason why I left the south after living their for so many years. Can't deal with the summer and fall heat. I do miss it in February/March though. Good job by you guys for toughing it out though.

Do you regret leaving? My fiancé and I are thinking about moving to the Charlotte NC area. I'm in my mid 30's now and can't take the constant heat anymore. I know it's hot other places during the summer, but like you know it's hot here 90% of the year.

My wife and I are planning on moving to western North Carolina by this summer. In the mountains west of Asheville. We can't stand the heat here anymore.

But we are keeping our season tickets

I really don't miss it at all. I love NE (today the high was 66 degrees and I watched the game on my porch wearing my USF jacket and grilling burgers). I do miss it on some saturdays and making it to FB games. I do go to a lot of away games and fly down for homecoming every year though. If you are in NC you can still make a few games and will appreciate the cooler weather. NC is a great place, especially the western part of the state.

Lived in Charlotte for 4 years.  The summer starts in May usually (always by memorial day) and goes thru september.  From the middle of June through August it is hotter than anywhere in the Tampa area.   It does get cloudy/rainy in the winter with a couple of days of snow each year.  I wouldn't say you escape the heat there, just the never ending nature of it.

I was in 206 in the shade under the overhang and it was still miserable.  I can't even imagine being in the sun.  By the time we left I looked like someone had dumped a bucket of water on me I was so drenched in sweat.  My son was just getting over a cold but he was a tough little trooper for a 7 year old.  We left in the 3rd quarter, I just couldn't take the heat anymore and felt bad for him.

Night starts are so much more enjoyable.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I don't mind heat for a couple months...just can't stand sweating 11 months out of the year anymore.

Thanks for the info. Must have been nice...that's what I'm looking for. I love being outdoors, but most of the year here it's just too hot to do anything outdoors.

Lived in Asheville for four years and loved it. Although I missed the ocean, the mountains and city were excellent. If you love the outdoors it is a great place to live. I was teaching at UNC Asheville at the time.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
