I have the same attitude you have. All we can do is show up, support USF and encourage others to join us. The media will catch on once we are consistently good.

USF media support in the Tampa Bay market is non existent.  Not only do they not support USF, I believe some of them go out of their way to put us down.

You would think they would support this move.  Wouldn't they rather cover a USF - Oklahoma game than a USF - Tulane game?

I think the athletic dept should offer a nice discount for alumni that never got season tickets before or even a 3 pack for like 50% off. Something to get alumni at the game.

It's a cyclical effect.  The media doesn't cover USF because there aren't enough fans, the fan base won't grow, because the media doesn't hype the games.

I don't know it would matter in Tampa. Local media has been hyping the Rays for years, but it's made little difference.

But I agree that USF gets little to no love in Tampa. Maybe that'll change one day, maybe not.

The sad reality is that we have local media that cares way more about a UFs team cancelled game than a 4-1 USF teams homecoming. 

I still remember a few weeks ago a bay news 9 anchor said after a 15 second segment on our game: "And we'd be in a lot of trouble if we talked about USF and not the gators, so here's a preview for Saturday's UF game!"

Just waiting for when we have a low turnout on this Saturday..do we blame all the local nightlife for the bad turnout?

A 5 and 1 team and exciting offense...less than 30k actual would be sad.
