I thought the officiating was also a big elephant in the room for that bowl game.  The two touchdowns were definitely questionable and there were several occasions when the WKU team made a touchdown and their player stood there and taunted the student section. I thought that was a penalty. It was never called.  Also one play in the first half where the WKU  defenseman  ran out of bounds on our sidelines  and literally pushed  someone from our coaching staff I believe. I do remember seeing a close-up on the big screen where it showed Willie was yelling at the referees and I think it was because of them not calling a penalty again. There were also defensive interference calls that I thought should have been called & were not. One player was holding Augie Sanchez most of the game and never got called for holding.

I know it does not change the score but I have a question as well. What can be done to the referees that officiated that game? Does it take CWT  going to the conference and complaining to get them to review the calls that these guys made?   The officials did a lousy job so that did not help our situation as well.

 Anyone's thoughts?

WKU got a freebie touchdown.  The guy fumbled the ball through the endzone, but since there was no camera directly on the line, it couldn't be overturned.  However if you look at the replay they did have, his foot was beyond the 2 yard line when he started fumbling, so there's no way he actually crossed the line in possession of the ball.

Any idea why there weren't any cameras on the goal lines? It's not like goal line reviews are uncommon, and they're calls that are critical to get right. Even based on the views that were shown on the video board, it looked like there was enough to overturn the td. The momentum swing between a td and touchback there was huge.

Strictly in my opinion with all the problems with the scoreboard and whatever was going on with the PA (I couldn't hear or understand what was being said) and the way we were shoehorned into that stadium it seemed like it was very amateurish.

I can't see myself going to another game in a baseball stadium.  Maybe the trop because it is so close but not out of town like that.

I hate complaining about refs but they were awful. Lots of missed penalties and calls going against us.

As for the touchdown, we all know he fumbled it, but after seeing the angles that ESPN had, they couldn't overturn it. Really changed the momentum of the game, goal line cameras should be mandatory.

My thoughts? Can't be published on a PG-13 board.

We gotta make field goals and stop leaving men downfield before we complain about anything else.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
