Didn't see a specific thread on this, so here it goes.

The schemes that were called for the 4-2-5 yesterday were for the most part god awful. We would have been better off playing with 10 down linemen and a deep safety.

Also, tackling angles were poor on just about every play.

Anything else?

We may just be over analyzing things.  We had a great year but only beat two teams with winning records.  WKU, might have been the best team we faced all year.

Zone coverage was not working against this offense. Tom Allen is in his first year Coaching this defense so it is a learning process even for him. He has to learn to adjust to who he is playing sometimes. We are designed against spread offenses. That was more like a power O we played

In the second half, when USF went to  three down lineman, I was shocked. The WKU QB is a talented statue. I expected more stunts  or schemes to make him uncomfortable, and maybe they tried that, but I couldn't see what they were trying.

I think the biggest factor was the D was on the field to long and gassed. Our O was quite bad the majority of the first 3 qtrs with something like 1/10 3rd down conversion and losing the time of possession battle. To me it seemed like the O was conservative and regressed especially in the first half to the beginning of the year. It appeared to me we were relying on our "better" athletes and got out coached. Still think we had the more talented squad just to one dimensional on offense this time.

Also think if MM isnt clicking, this time due to the field, against a good team we need the QB to be able to throw. I really hope QF practices hard this off season and am very interested to see what AW beings to the table. With MM in the backfield if we can make the Ds respect the pass threat the O will be something to watch.

1/14 on third. So sad.

DJ had the same number of Td passes as Bench this season :lmao:

we have some crazy stats.

Flowers had 4 more rushing tds than Mack.

This season will be great for trivia

If we want to be great we must learn how to tackle.

One of the worst plays of the game for our d.

I was really disappointed with the defense.

honestly, we are lucky it was even close. WKU missed some wide open guys on deep throws. They could have easily dropped 50 on us.

seemed like Doughty had all day back there for the most part, too. We had a few big sacks, and a few HUGE picks, but other than that they moved the ball at will on us.
