Miami will have a turnaround like the Gators...

Their athletic revenue embarrasses the G5 schools

No if there is a rising coach who's ultimate goal is a program like USC, Texas, ND, or Florida. Quick success at UCF might be a better stepping stone vs going to Miami given the track record of their last 3 coaches. Some coaches might have that mindset if they have zero ties to Miami's Program

quick success with what?  A team that hasn't won a game yet?

The same could be said for any school.  If UCF wants an up and coming coordinator, they would be interested.  Current head coach is a different story.  Fuentes isn't leaving Memphis for UCF, but he'd leave for Miami in a nanosecond.  Miami is simply on a different tier.

Miami has lost some ground on that "tier" discussion in the last few years, before Golden even stepped in. I could see admin & general turmoil being considerable warning flags to a potential coach. But they still have better talent, more history, and P5 tag which will keep them at that higher tier until they just destroy it.

And more money.  Lots more money.

This. Miami is still the better job, but what was a grand canyon like difference 5-8 years ago, is more like a small river valley now.

Had a conversation with a UM grad who stays abreast of football there.  His thoughts are that Shalala (sp?) wanted to get rid of the Thug U stuff and actually, you know, put students in the student athlete positions.  Until she is gone, which is soon from what he said, you can expect UM to struggle in football.

Maybe, but they keep getting top 25 classes, and putting players in the NFL.  That leads me to believe that the talent is there, but not the coaching (could also be players playing for #1 instead of the team, but not likely the main impact).

Miami has a recruiting ground fertile with kids who grew up wanting to be Canes, and they have a ton of NFL alums, and they are usually around the team & vocal.  Shannon was too mild, and Golden just flailed...not sure why.  But hey, maybe he gets that Temple job back, if Rhule gets lured away.

I doubt UCF is a better hob than Miami, but I see where they are coming from. UCF has better facilities and a similar budget for assistant coaches, only difference is their fan base doesn't have the same insane expectations of UM. Less pressure, similar amount of resources to work with.

USF is a better job than both.

Your friend obviously does not stay up too well on miami because that President is gone,  a new one is already in place.  As a Miami grab and a USF student I can tell you that Miamis facilities are better than those at USF (football wise,  baseball stadium is about equal to USF,  thats a really nice stadium),  but not by all that much,  id say about 20% better.  Miami is building an indoor practice facility soon however.

Miami is a better job than UCF and USF.  The facilities,  pay,  and fanbase is better at South Carolina,  but recruiting and winning is much easier at Miami.  The old president Shalala KILLED Miami football bad.  Dont believe Miami is broke tho,  they just paid 7 million to fire Golden

USC is clearly better.  Miami is questionable.  Their facilities need serious work, work the university has been unwilling to fund.  If they want a quality coach, there will have to be some gurantees in the contract about facility upgrades.  Sure they have won national titles in the past.  So has Army.

Another silly post.  Miami has invested over 12 mill in facilities in the last 5 yrs,  and are about to announce an indoor facility.  Miami will never have an OCS,  the campus is like one third the size of USF and there is no room.  Remember Miami just signed a HUUUUGE Adidas contract that started a couple of months ago.  Theres a reason whyvMiami just paid 7 mill to fire Golden...... $ is no longer an issue
