Now I can't even feel good about the one thing Taggart was supposedly good at, recruiting, because he can't see what is right in front of him. Not impressed thus far with his evaluations.

It is becoming very clear he can't coach his way out of a paper bag. At this point I think he can recruit, which is why he was able to make WKU decent in the Sun Belt. He just got better players that were able to overcome the lack of coaching ability.

It will never work here no matter how well he recruits. There is a reason other programs are turning away from it, where as we are turning towards it. If he gets fired after 3 years he will have recruited to this offense and another coach will come in and want to go back to a version of the spread and now we're back at square one. This program can't survive that...

The staff is consistently ahead of other schools in recognizing and offering players. However, the evaluation is simply whether the player projects to be a starter/contributor on the team. As far as evaluating talent on the team, the evaluation is not whether the kid gets an offer or not which is a binary consideration. It's which of these kids is going to play because someone has to play. The choice is White (bad choice), Bench (bad choice) and Flowers (bad choice). I can't believe he thinks White is the best of those options, but he is out there and presumably believes White is the best of bad options as opposed to him thinking White is actually good. How can your leave a guy on the feild passing for 25%? May as well not play a QB, put in an extra blocker and snap directly to the RB. That is how bad and predictable this offense is, but at least an extra blocker may help the run. Edited September 14, 2014 by Gismo

Because you hate Bench (he of the 40% completion percentage) and half the freshman's passes ended up with the other team. Of course I would, as I noted in another thread, move to more read option with Flowers and Bench. We cannot throw anyways but we might create some space for the Running backs we have in Mack, Tice and Johnson.

Bench was almost as bad last week, and Flowers came in and was 1-4 with TWO ints. Sanjay is spot on...we have no decent QBs, period.
