I would like to see Flowers..I know he is going to struggle but I rather struggle with Flowers than Bench.

I saw flowers in practice. I will stick with bench

Never seen the guy play, but do you not think it would be better to put an athlete at QB? Steven Bench is a BAD QB. I don't think we can argue that, and I would probably say Flowers, at this point, is a BAD QB. I know Bench is somewhat athletic, but lets be honest, he's not that quick or fast. So, why not put the athlete in the game?

also, when did you see him? If it was early in camp, you may not have gotten the most accurate look, because consensus seems he got much better as camp went on.

Not sure I'd classify him as BAD, based on yesterday's game. 14/36 but had 8 drops per CWT. One thing that impressed me up until the 4th quarter was the decision making. Going thru his progressions, not forcing the ball ... and the fact that he had time to do that was impressive also .... again, until the 4th qtr.

Smart to go with Bench. . . he is the best we have seen in the last twoyears.

Leavitt would have won yesterday's game with Bryan Fisher.

Leavitt would have one this game period.

If we are saying Flowers isn't ready as a QB or isn't the QB future, then just play him now somewhere...anywhere...get all the play makers that we can on the field.  Let him play some split time at QB  (ie: Tebow) based on the situation.

Hey CWT, get a little creative

I LIKE TO PUSH CAPS LOCK TOO WHEN I WANT TO GET MY POINT ACROSS INSTEAD OF bolding MY WORDS n' JUNK

But seriously guys, I'm all for Flowers getting a few first team reps, but I'd let Taggart and Wulf tweak the offense to tailor to Bench's strengths. Maybe some designed options or zone reads n' such. shorter throws for him?

Hell, maybe with a full week of practice he can mentally prepare to be thrown into the game. No surprises.

With 19,000 actual fans for a Big 10(ACC) opponent, the upper deck is probably going away next year

Keep in mind that Bench has been getting backup reps for two weeks. It will help him to get first team reps.

I was thinking this, too. Maybe if Bench gets a week of reps with the #1s, he can look like he did in the spring game--accurate.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
