Absurd. When a coach gets his team to play above their talent level "he's coached them up" and "got the most out of them."

But...when his team rolls over, "you can't coach heart?" Hell yes you can.

That being said Heath wasn't playing last night. That game is on the players. Heath offense is the same turd it has been for his tenure.

How do you coach heart?  you either have it or you don't.  Its inside most just hate to lose so much they don't let it happen (Jordon MJ)  the only ones that seem to have a little heart might be Allen and Leday.  Brock did but he mailed it in early in the season.  This team is way to moody and that needs to change.  I trust Stan will change that and AC also helps, he is the heart and cares but isn't out there

If you either have it or you don't, how is Stan going to change it?

I'll say it again, the only group of people I feel sorry for are the players that has to endure these embarrassing moments on a fairly consistent bases. I don't feel sorry for any USF fan because the majority of them want this and continue to embrace it. The same applies to USF's administration because not only do they allow this to consistently happen, unlike the fans, they have the power to make it stop and chooses not to do so. No where else would this constant lesson in futility be excepted but here at USF, who isn't in the ivy league, or Stanford, or Northwestern. Basketball should actually be important but apparently it isn't despite making major upgrades to the facilities. Why spend the money in the first place if you don't care? Maybe they thought that is all the basketball program needed it order to win at a higher level, plus bring in more support and money. You still have to have the right leader in charge to make it work, you can't just throw it out there and say here you go.

Frankly I don't expect USF to make changes to the basketball program in order try and build a winning program despite having most of the things in place and surrounding to do just that....WIN. Bring on next season so we can have similar threads to this one.

Why do you feel sorry for the players??? They control the outcome more than anyone including Heath.

Exactly .... Bottom line is that the HC is ultimately responsible for everything and it's his ass that's on the line but you only score 14 points in a half, that's on the players and feeling sorry for them is ridiculous.

It's the coach's responsibility and that is certain.

Video: UConn Manager Goes Nut for Walk-On 3

aIxrggz.gif

After logging just 15 minutes prior to Wednesday night’s 83-40 rout of South Florida, UConn junior walk-on Pat Lenehan saw the floor for five against the Bulls and hit a late 3-pointer - his first made field goal on the season and UConn career.

Lenehan’s wide-open corner trey came much to the delight of a team manager, who seemed to be channeling Bart Simpson from “Lisa on Ice†with his Double Windmill move that is hands down the best college basketball bench celebration of the year.

By recruiting a leader and a guy that has heart...that is how Stan will change it.  An update for you the team changes every year

I know it was against us, and the game sucked, but that gif ... pure gold.

No. It is squarely on his shoulders.

It's all Stan's "fault", just like last year, the NCAA year, the NIT year and all the rest of the years. It's just a matter of the decision makers analyzing everything and deciding how long to give Stan. Could be one more year, maybe more ... One thing for sure is that Stan won't be the new AD's guy so the leash will probably be shorter.
