Watch the Fighting Texas Aggie Band. Now that is a marching band.

Our band isn't very entertaining.

HOT was promising at one time.... the leadership was strong and it had direction and purpose. The current leadership is... well... not so good... and they're funded by athletics so there's that too.

You guys honestly don't know what you're talking about. The band is fine. Not great, but far from sucking. They are certainly not part of the reason the football team is crappy, so don't drag them into the dumpster fire.

And LMAO at comparing them to DCI...just silly.

I wasn't comparing them to DCI... but if you compare them to other bands they're not that great. It's been known for quite a while that the leadership hasn't been strong. My wife and her friends keep going back at home coming year after year for alumni band and you can see the steady decline on how HOT is run. Whoever said they were responsible for or related to the football team's issues?

I think Ohio State is at one end of the entertainment spectrum and we are way down there at the other end.

 

And when we talk about the need to "be in the stadium for the pre-game show"...does that imply that the pre-game show has a considerable measure of entertainment value, or is the nut that we're in our seats before the National Anthem?

Agreed. it's amazing what that change in leadership has done to the HOT. I hope they can get things back in an upward and fun tragectory again.
