The QB position is probably what irks me the most about the money we are still playing holtz (other than the obvious malpractice our our AD).  We do not have D1 college QB on the roster ready to play.  Bench is as close as we get and Willing brought him in!  How does that happen with a highly compensated professional staff?

It's not easy to recruit a QB, after they've all committed, to a horrible team.

Not sure what you mean - Holtz had multiple seasons to prepare to address this and failed.  And we weren't awful until last year.

Bench deserves to be in every snap. He is energetic, shows leadership, and can play the position. Welch dropped a sure TD from Bench.

Welch was probably the second biggest disappointment today - behind Eveld, but distantly behind!

Welch dropped two passes. One sure TD from Bench. Bench looked 5000x more confident.

Eveld threw that pass I believe. Bench threw one pass to a receiver out of bounds

How can you possibly know any of this?

Watch the tape. He is the only qb thag looked like he had a pair today. I don't need to explain, the evidence is documented.

I want Bench because our pass pro sucks and he's the only one with feet that move like a QB needs.

Yep, in other words, he's the only one who looks athletic enough to actually play QB.  I think not releasing that pass quick enough, waiting till the receiver was out of bounds cost him additional playing time.  Ultimately though he looked the part, certainly more than Floyd or Eveld have.

He had ONE SERIES.

You're reacting to the potential he brings, not what he actually brings.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
