ND just cancelled a 2014 road game with ASU. Should Doug give ASU a call?

Just because you play a one and done on the road, doesn't mean it's a "pay day" game. It could very well be a Holy "F" USF is a great team game. Get our name out there even more. If you win, people will eventually give you a home and home. Especially if you beat them at their house. We have very little to stand on to demand home and home contracts.

No brainer. We need to bolster our nonconference FCS schedule.

The best reason for Doug to schedule this game is to make Hbryan happy, renew his season tickets and save us  from the whining :roflmao:

This would be an attractive home game, especially if we could get them to return the trip down the road.

Assume you mean an attractive away game ....

It takes 2 to make an agreement. You have no idea what goes on behind closed doors in regards to scheduling.

I think that, given how things are shaking out, we would be well served to take the quality away games when we can, although we will never be in a position to completely avoid the FCS early-season games. A return trip would be nice, but at this point, it should not be a make-or-break (deal wise), given our conference standing.

Let do it for 2014. We'd get to avoid Will Sutton (RS SR).

As a side note ... imagine if you were an ASU season ticket holder and a home game with Notre Dame just got replaced with some directional school from Florida that you think Dante Culpepper went to a long time ago. (I really don't hold that opinion of us, but the average ASU fan will have no idea who we are, and we certainly aren't Notre Dame.)

Well said Mike.

Has he gotten these done in recent years?

No, but the last one he got done, was the FSU deal which was set up about like this one.
