Change "The U" to a supporter of second amendment rights, and the "NCAA" to the ATF, and you'd be jumping up and down that the case needed to be thrown out.

Perception is reality.

miami and its fans are pathetic.  sad day for college sports when you can basically get away with murder.

yes because Miami has gotten away from this without any penalties. It was pretty exciting watching Miami play in the ACC title game this year and going to a bowl game the past two seasons.

oh wait....

I know its hard for most of you to comprehend but Miami isnt trying to get away with anything. They have cooperated with the NCAA in 2011 and 2012 and banned themselves from two bowl games and a conference title game. No other school has ever taken those measures. The school has admitted guilt in some of the findings. Players have been suspended and money has been paid back. But after all that, the NCAA still is screwing up things on their end and Miami is over it. They want this investigation to come to an end so they can move forward.

the NCAA had a chance to save face by accepting the two postseasons bans and even throwing in a few scholarship losses over the next few seasons but even the NCAA found a way to **** that up. Now anyone with common sense can see how bad the NCAA mismanaged this situation. Just read the report on how they went about suspending Durand Scott for the ACC Tournament last year and for the first few games of this basketball season. Its horrible how they handled him.

The NCAA has been beaten into a corner now but Miami and the press. The NCAA only has a hail mary attempt left to save themselves and last I checked, Doug Flutie isnt on the payroll yet...

Who cares if Miami banned themselves and some bogus scholarships.  The program let the players take money and other gifts for 8 years and did not even blink an eye while the guy doing it was on the sidelines.

It's Miami throwing the hail mary.

No other school has banned themselves... dude, really?  Every school that gets in trouble does that now to try and lessen the blow.  Incredible that you are saying that puts Miami on the high road.  Miami is a repeat offender of some of the most egregious offenses in NCAA history.  Miami is Bernie Madoff trying to get off on a technicality.  An alleged  institution of higher learner should not conduct themselves like a petty thief, but that is exactly what is going on here.  Miami and Rutgers are an embarrassment to US education.

just the fact that miami is trying to fight this and potentially have the case thrown out is an indication of the type of ******** program you guys run down there.  pathetic.  you should be embarrased to be a miami fan.

it's typical for anyone to use certain technicalities and details to have everyone else miss the bigger picture.  sad that it's the school doing this in this case.

uh oh, the NCAA is admitting fault by throwing out some of Kyle Wright's testimony....

An alleged  institution of higher learner should not conduct themselves like a petty thief, but that is exactly what is going on here.

But it's ok that the governing body can conduct themselves like a petty thief?

I said this:

banned themselves from two bowl games and a conference title game. No other school has ever taken those measures.

You said this:

No other school has banned themselves... dude, really?

Now please point me in the direction of the school that has self imposed TWO bowl bans.

Once again since some of you either lack the comprehension skills or are so enraged by hate that you cant understand what Miami is doing here. Miami isnt trying to escape punishment on a technicality. Miami has already admitted guilt by sitting out TWO bowl games and the ACC title game. Miami has worked with the NCAA for the past two years and the NCAA is still moving at a snails pace. Now with the shady tactics used by the NCAA while Miami was cooperating, the school is fed up with it and wants it over.

Funny how with all the allegations of giving money, cars, parties, strippers, etc, the NCAA could only come up with $170k of gifts in an 8 year period. Maybe it was more, maybe it wasnt. Only proof is from a guy rotting in a jail cell who was hoping to sell his story for a book deal to come up with money to pay back some of his victims. A story of a rogue booster spending less than 10k a year isnt going to be making the NYT Best Sellers list anytime soon...

(170,000 / 8) < 10,000 ?

Some education.

(170,000 / 8) = 21,250

Pointing to the wrongs of the NCAA doesn't abolish the wrongs by Miami.
