  1. Bianchi is great at what he does. Builds teams up, tears them apart but keeps people reading across the state. When Florida was running teams with Meyer, he was their biggest cheerleader. He is doing the same thing with FSU right now and UCF. He's always taken shots at USF but if USF was to pull a miracle tonight, he would be slamming UCF to no end come tomorrow's piece.
  2. Saying its a devastating loss is an understatement. He is easily a top 3 player in the world right now. And I would say #2 behind only Crosby. I dont know if the Lightning can overcome this and still make the playoffs. Luckily for TB, the Metro division appears to be a 3-bid division this year. So 5 from the Atlantic is pretty likely IMO.
  3. lol it wouldnt need to be a slap on the wrist if the NCAA would've gotten in front of the investigation and not dragged its feet. Sitting out 2 bowls, 1 ACC title game is hardly a slap on the wrist. Playing under the 85 limit too. But go ahead and just keep saying slap on the wrist because you have no clue like 75% of the morons on message boards.
  4. 3 weeks ago half this board was talking 10-12 losses. Now some are talking about if the loss by Louisville helps/hurts the chances of USF beating Louisville.
  5. funny, the 19 games he coached Freeman, Schiano was didnt trust Freeman to throw the ball for a first down to seal the win. 55 minutes into the career of Glennon and Schiano is trusting him to throw for first downs when up a score and pinned inside their 20. Glennon looked like I thought he would. Made some nice simple throws, made some mistakes but what are you going to expect from him in his first start. But Schiano must go. A capable coach would've won 9-10 games last year and be 3-1 this season. No way the Glazers can keep the goof around for 2014.
  6. ugh, out of all years to have a legit shot at a top 5 QB pick and its a draft class that Bridgewater may be the best guy coming out.
  7. I watch games all day and see WRs running wide open a lot. WRs in the middle of field with so much space its not even funny. Then I watch the Bucs and every WR is basically being draped all over. Is it the play designs or what? Freeman already has his accuracy problems but why doesnt the Bucs WRs get open as much? Just amazing how badly this team was set up this year. I know two TEs are injured but why not try to find atleast someone with a pulse until they get back? Olgetree as the 3rd receiver?? What did Lindell do to deserve the spot over the Dimke kid who was pretty good during preseason. I'm not a conspiracy guy but I'm starting to believe that Schiano was given a free pass this year and is basically sabotaging the season to get Freeman out of here. I almost want Freeman to be benched so moron Schiano will put in Glennon. I've watched Glennon a decent amount at NCST and nothing he ever did showed me that he was a capable of being a playoff type NFL QB. Just put Glennon in and prove that he cant play the position so we as Bucs fans dont have to watch him waste the 2014 season.
  8. Which is why Shannon parlayed his Miami firing into being a positions coach at Arkansas. He couldnt even find a job as a DC. I know youre trying to make it out to be that Holtz left USF in a much worse position but all things being the same, Shannon and Holtz are pretty equal in how much of a mess they left in their wake.
  9. Could we beat Savannah State? Next week should be fun. Well Stephen Morris did get injured on the third series so maybe he wont play. Ankle injury but walked off field. x-rays negative. And while I think the backup Ryan Williams isnt any good, he should be good enough.
  10. Can't be, Holtz already filled that role. I'm not sure what the coaching analogy is for a coach who keeps another program down after a KragHoltz-type coach. Randy Shannon-ized.
  11. Just a moronic play by David. As good as the defense played (not going to go crazy b/c they looked good vs a bad Jets offense), the defense killed the Bucs with stupid penalties that made 4th down attempts into automatic 1st downs. The Jets got 10 points from these types of plays. And the personal foul on Goldson was weak as **** before the half. It went from being 14-8 at the half to 14-12. These are the types of losses that keeps teams from having playoff hopes come week 15-17.
  12. man, that sounds like the Apopka situation on ESPN last week. Glad to read that your son is going to be ok.
  13. yeah, 4 banners covering the corner sections of Sun Life. but if anyone has a tarp can cover all sections of an upper deck, they should contact the AD at USF. I'm sure it'll be put to good use after tonight's debacle.
  14. lol, poor Gismo. He took everything ESPN and Yahoo reported as gospel when it was about the Miami scandal but now is a little mad at their antics when it comes to reporting stories.
  15. probably 3-4 ships a year for 2-3 years. anymore bowl bans will venture into PSU territory which this situation is clearly not.
  16. Shapiro didn't graduate. He spent 5 years at USF, and never completed his degree. If there's a silver lining to Shapiro and his relationship to USF, it's that he's not technically an alumnus. Speaking of alumni, we have way too many people that graduated from USF during the pre-football years that would rather follow one of the Big-3 simply because they grew up as a fan, have family that attended, or whatever other excuse such a person can drum up. These kinds of USF people make me sick. The reason you're getting paid in whatever vocation you chose is because of your undergraduate degree and combination of graduate/professional degree from whatever institution you went to obtain those. And I agree with you, Mutiny, this kind of donor could have been welcomed at USF. The compliance people at USF, however, are pretty vigilant about gifts provided to athletes. I don't think that USF would have allowed this type of Shapiro-type culture to proliferate for 8 years like UM did. But that's just my speculation. Pretty vigilant about gifts provided to athletes? UM allowed it to "proliferate" for 8 years? Let's focus on the first part. If you bother to analyze the ALLEGATIONS, let alone the much smaller subset of what was actually PROVEN, you would see that there were not many "gifts provided to athletes". Think about what you are saying, before you just use vague language to equate various kinds of behaviors. I don't disagree that it is possible to be "vigilant" when players are receiving actual items of value, or money. But that is very different from a guy (supposedly) picking up a check at dinner or allowing guys to stand in his VIP section at a club. Even think about the UNC situation vs. the Miami situation when it comes to picking up a check. UNC was able to identify what happened when current players were sending out tweets and FB updates which gave evidence that they were in South Florida enjoying the beneficence of others. Nothing of the sort happened at Miami, and it was years later that Shapiro himself provided some "traditional" photographs, many of which were misleading. As just one example, the guy with the "photographic memory" told Yahoo that multiple pictures of himself on the football field standing next to UM players were taken at the UM-OSU Fiesta Bowl, yet the players were all wearing the wrong colored jerseys and the background of the photos clearly showed the Orange Bowl architecture. So feel free to elaborate on how USF's staff can be so vigilant of every single meal, club visit, and weekend activity of 85 football players, when they are not posting anything on social media that gives an idea of what they were up to. However, when a player IS stupid enough to provide evidence so easily, Miami was quick to take action (see, generally, Ray Ray Armstrong). As for your "proliferation" comment, it's just not backed up by anything real. Shapiro was shady and obnoxious. Big cities are filled with people like that. Randy Shannon didn't like Shapiro, but he had NOTHING concrete on which to base that. The true amount of money that Shapiro paid to UM, in contributions and tickets, is small. He never finished paying for the ROOM he sponsored in our new Athletic Center. The infamous bowling tournament photo that he took with Shalala was something that he sprung on her, which is why she is showing surprise and excitement at the event, because nobody was expecting a contribution or a big oversized check. At the end of it all, Shapiro wasn't given a lot of special access. The other infamous photo of Shapiro standing next to the tunnel before our players came out? He got that by bidding on the opportunity at a fundraising auction. He had that kind of access one time in nine years, because he won a fundraising auction. The access to the crappy old press box at the Orange Bowl? All Hurricane Club members above a certain level were previously allowed that same access to the tiny rat-trap that we used to call a "press box". It's simply time to de-mythologize all of the nonsense that has built up. Shapiro had above-average access compared to the average person inside of the stadium, but it was nothing special based on his donor level and the fact that he won a fundraising auction once. It's embarrassing after-the-fact, but there are plenty of boosters with far more access at many other programs across the country, and occasionally those boosters get arrogant and/or abusive. Welcome to big-time college athletics. We should be getting our punishment within the next couple of weeks. At that point, I'm sure that some of our rivals will be disappointed, but hopefully people will read the entire report and realize that most of what Shapiro alleged was never proven. The Yahoo article sounded horrible, but the stuff that was actually proven was much less. Some of that is due to the limitations period and the fact that the NCAA couldn't compel former players to speak to them. Some of that is due to the fact that Shapiro lied and exaggerated at every turn. I have no problems with taking our punishment, so long as it is based on things that are actually proven, and not the ridiculous Yahoo article. Three facts for you.... 1). Miami booster was recruiting high school kids with hookers and blow for 8 years. 2). Miami booster was giving sloots, abortions, narcs to the team for 8 years. 3). Miami is screwed. Your mother was a hamster and your father smells of elder berries. I fart in your general direction. That's how bad it is going to be for Miami. Bonus Fact: NCAA is about to go no lube on the ibis. here's the only fact: 1. you have no idea what a fact is.
  17. slap on the wrist? Is sitting out 2 bowl games and a berth in the ACC Championship game just a slap on the wrist? Plus there will be some loss of ships. Hardly a slap on the wrist. And what exactly has Miami gotten away with? Want the definition of slap on the wrist, look up the Oregon situation. It's not Miami's fault that the NCAA dragged its feet for 2+ years on this. Schools impose sanctions all the time and the NCAA goes with it, which is what will happen hear. You're just mad that the NCAA wont be dropping the official hammer on Miami because Miami acted before the slow NCAA.
  18. uh oh, the NCAA is admitting fault by throwing out some of Kyle Wright's testimony.... But it's ok that the governing body can conduct themselves like a petty thief? I said this: You said this: Now please point me in the direction of the school that has self imposed TWO bowl bans. Once again since some of you either lack the comprehension skills or are so enraged by hate that you cant understand what Miami is doing here. Miami isnt trying to escape punishment on a technicality. Miami has already admitted guilt by sitting out TWO bowl games and the ACC title game. Miami has worked with the NCAA for the past two years and the NCAA is still moving at a snails pace. Now with the shady tactics used by the NCAA while Miami was cooperating, the school is fed up with it and wants it over. Funny how with all the allegations of giving money, cars, parties, strippers, etc, the NCAA could only come up with $170k of gifts in an 8 year period. Maybe it was more, maybe it wasnt. Only proof is from a guy rotting in a jail cell who was hoping to sell his story for a book deal to come up with money to pay back some of his victims. A story of a rogue booster spending less than 10k a year isnt going to be making the NYT Best Sellers list anytime soon...
  19. yes because Miami has gotten away from this without any penalties. It was pretty exciting watching Miami play in the ACC title game this year and going to a bowl game the past two seasons. oh wait.... I know its hard for most of you to comprehend but Miami isnt trying to get away with anything. They have cooperated with the NCAA in 2011 and 2012 and banned themselves from two bowl games and a conference title game. No other school has ever taken those measures. The school has admitted guilt in some of the findings. Players have been suspended and money has been paid back. But after all that, the NCAA still is screwing up things on their end and Miami is over it. They want this investigation to come to an end so they can move forward. the NCAA had a chance to save face by accepting the two postseasons bans and even throwing in a few scholarship losses over the next few seasons but even the NCAA found a way to **** that up. Now anyone with common sense can see how bad the NCAA mismanaged this situation. Just read the report on how they went about suspending Durand Scott for the ACC Tournament last year and for the first few games of this basketball season. Its horrible how they handled him. The NCAA has been beaten into a corner now but Miami and the press. The NCAA only has a hail mary attempt left to save themselves and last I checked, Doug Flutie isnt on the payroll yet...
  20. haha, grasping at straws? Only people grasping at straws are moron fans who are so jaded that they are ok with a corrupt system going to corrupt means to punish someone. If it so clear then find the evidence and go after Miami ethically. Maybe I should befriend some USF players, take them bowling a few times, save the receipts and then tell the NCAA twice that I paid USF players tens of thousands of dollars. That is all that needs to be done for the NCAA to believe me.
  21. and the NCAA keeps ******* themselves in their own asses. they should have just walked away from this months ago. oh the irony of the NCAA trying for years to take out Miami. And in the end, the demise of the NCAA will be because of Miami. RIP NCAA.
  22. lol, do you guys even hear yourselves? Walk away unscathed? No way Miami walks away? They havent gone unscathed or walked away from anything. They've already sat out 3 postseason games. Some of you act like nothing has or will happen when it comes to punishment. It's not Miami's fault the NCAA dragged their feet for 2+ years and allowed Miami to do unprecedent self imposing.
  23. You dont think its happening now? Every is getting paid illegally now and that is including HS coaches. Ole Miss getting a top 5 class, Arkansas landing one of the best RBs in the country after just a month of recruiting. Even NCAA people are corrupt. The entire system needs an overhaul.
