Thats who I think should be hired, and if thats where they are headed it needs to be quick before he heads someone else.

He has done a good job at WKU, but hiring a guy just so we can get recruits from his old high school seems a little crazy to me!

The current coach at Manatee should be ashamed of himself for black balling USF, what Holtz did was by no means acceptable, but not allowing any of your kids to sign with USF could be doing them a huge disservice! He's suppose to have their best interest in mind not forbidding them to go to a school cause one guy got his scholarship offers taken away. Again, I'm not trying to defend what Holtz did to that kid.

Name a big name guy that chose WKU over USF.......

You must not know about Mamantee County football. How many offers were made to recent kids from Manatee County under Skippy? Not many. Leon Allen chose WKU over Miami and some other D1 schools and is the real deal. Bundrage who was a Randy Moss type of receiver at Manatee chose Iowa State with only UCF giving him an offer. We also lost out on Mike Blakely, the Pompey twins, Bo Brand, Dooling from SEHS, and many more. Coach Kinnan didn't stop anyone from choosing USF, he made sure that they chose an offer to a school than actually wanted them there. I know much about the Manatee program and Skip pulled Brion's offer late and luckily he had Nebraska offer up one too. Did Brion loose out, nope but USF sure did. I really hope that we can get USF back recruiting our kids down here as it would be a shame if we allow Cord Sandberg, our front four, and Willie Smith who is a stud for our secondary(but out due to a torn lig). I pray that we can get someone in that can build a better relationship than Skip had with Manatee County coaches.

Greg Aumanâ€@gregauman

USF coaching search midday update: **** Vitale (!) and Manatee's Joe Kinnan back Willie Taggart for Bulls' opening.

if we do end up with Willie, Joe is a very good guy to have in his pocket and we would have first choice over a lot of Manatee talent that has been lost in the recent years to out-of-state programs, including WKU.

You mean the crappy coach that beat us with less then half the talent we have...Boston College better do something and quick. If Umass football takes off and even has 7-5 or 6-6 type seasons, bye bye BC. Mass will support the University of Massachusetts over BC anyday.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
