I only read the first 10 or 15 posts, and all I have to say is this:

If anyone would like the opportunity to stand and not be yelled at, you're welcome and encouraged to come join us in sec 125.

And if anyone asks us to sit(which IS your right to do), you will receive a response similar to the following: "If you cant see, stand up."

Hello all

What burns me is the people who get front row tickets and then stand up for the entire game. Thats why me and amie_abull are going for front row season tickets next year.

Cheers

I used to be all about standing up until I saw this idiot at the bowl game getting in the face of a 80+ old man.  The fragile old man was struggling to get up with his cane just to please that idiot.

This is not about "rights" and chess tournaments.  This is about being in a place where alumni pay money to sit in good seats.  They are there to support the program by buying season tickets and donating.  Mutt, you are not a small person and if someone paid money to see a game and can only see the back of your jersey, he can ask you to sit down.  He/she may not get the answer they like, but they can still ask.

If we tell all those people they should stay at home, then everyone bitches about the seats being empty.  Right now, USF is a casual atmosphere and a family outing.  Hopefully in years to come we will be loud and screaming and standing (if you want).

I know it sucks but you both paid to be there, some people just like to cheer from the seats.  At least they are there supporting USF.  Doesn't always make them less of a fan.

WHAT AN INTERESTING TOPIC! 8-)

is mutt 300lbs or more? he didnt look that big in his picture but the bull horns and beads add weight to him

where was bubbles during all this?

i am 5'6 so if i stand no body would complain!

IS THEIR A STADIUM RULE about standing?

]

i have been to so many venues that i dont remember how many but i never remember  standing being an issue

drinking and cursing seem to be the big issues i have ever witnessed

in the 90's my nephew(tight tank top guy ) and i would go to every uf/fsu game and everyone seemed to be standing

i cant beleive this is such a big issue

next game i go to you will see  find me in shoops section next to jen or student section.

i am not dealing with cranky old farts that ***** when you stand.what a bummer.

maybe usf should have sectionwhereyou cant stand!

I have met Mutt and I know that he is like a gentle giant, and I  bet it was one of those little 5ft 6 in midgets with a big ego  that was pestering him.

Mutt, just hang in there it gets easier as you get to be "one of those old farts."

   To paraphrase Gen. MacArthur:

"Old farts never die, they just fade away." and clear the whole back row behind you.

HaHa, Shoop, I think I'll get my front row seat closer to your group. Mike can sit at the end of the row with the guys who don't want to stand & I'll blend right in with you and the other crazies of Sec. 125!!!!!!!!!   8-)

I went down to see some friends over in the student section with the hand. I was promptly escorted down to front row,(Thanks all) and stood the whole half. Loved it again and brought back great memories. Then had to go back to the family in my seasoners. What was funny, people over ther told me to stand with the hand!!! Go figure! ;D   Reaper

Can't say I'm surprised by any of this.

When I was at USF, I sat in the front row of the student section behind the basket for every basketball game for my four years.  I don't know if it's still tradition or not, but we didn't sit down until USF scored their first basket of the game.  We were playing Ohio State, and I got kicked out for standing, and doing what I did every game.

Same thing almost happened a couple years later (one of Greenburg's first years there), and Seth actually apologized to us after the game and told us it wouldn't happen again.

If that happens on USF's campus, why should it be different at RJS?

Even though I have a hard time standing and pay for it for the next few days in pain, I can't help but pop up on great plays.  Stand the whole time?  If I had one of those in front of me I would not renew my season ticket and just go sit in the handicapped seating.  I don't mind people popping up once in a while -- heck, they're into the game, so am I.  But prolonged standing is selfish and some of us are disabled.  So if you want to lose season ticket holders, stand in front of someone who can't stand well.

What burns me more are the RUDE IDIOTS who sit during the quarter changes, half time, and time outs and then get up and slowly walk up the aisle many times.  Or the addled idiots who come in late, stand in the aisle and try to find their seats only to discover that they are in the wrong section.  I usually let them know.  I am not renewing my aisle seats next year and am moving over into Mutt's section (although I will not be behind him).  If I still miss most of the game due to people blocking my view, I will give up my season tickets and just get single game tickets for the handicapped seating.

You have to be aware of those around you.  It is called courtesy.  And if you want to lose paying fans, put your interests above those of everyone else.  Not everyone is 19 years old and physically able.

Don't like it?  Deal with it.  I have to.
