  1. Yes folks. We have not died, we have not faded away. I would be surprised if we did get rid of him. If we had the cash to pony up, then yes. But with Holtz's buyout, we don't have the cash in the coffers to add Willie to the buyout bus. So folks, grab your rears and switch the gears. It's another year to endure of mediocrity and D2 mentality.
  2. Well folks, the old Reaper is back!!! Years older, years wiser, a coach in the High School ranks myself, and ready again to add the good ole 2 cents. Good to see old faces(names) again. Rome certainly wasn't built in a day, AND the walls of Jerico did fall. However, What is disparaging to me is that the team in all facets looked ill prepared and looked lost. This was a new look I have not seen for USF football. We always had our she-at together for our first game or was better prepared. We then worked out the bugs and got better each contest, or attempted to. This team seems to have no leadership or no fire. This I attribute to coaching. If we can't prepare, how do we expect our players to perform. It's too easy to blame the players when we really need to look at the source. Once again, good to be back and more from me coming in the future. Don't fear the Reaper!
  3. Wow! Where did this post pop up from!!! Brandon lost in a very close and controversial race if I remember correctly. He should have won it, in MHO!
  4. I am with you Brad. We need a tried and true name here at USF with Big time expirience. We have tried the "underclass" route too many times here!!! It does not work. Just because Winthrop was hot this year. Sorry my vote is no! Reaper
  5. Love to see you come back Howie. C'mon back! We'll take care of the schmucks!!! Reaper
  6. Hey Terry! Remember Boby Lutz always coming over to us when Charlotte was in town? You'd always kid him about his suit!!! Great guy. Always liked us crazies!  Reaper
  7. Gotta bring that to my hometown in St.Charles, UCFINGSUX!!!  Raise a Bulls flag from the top of the Hotel Baker, or put a USF jersey on the fox statue on the Main Street Bridge!!! Better yet, have the lights at the top of the Municiple Bldg. flash green and gold!!!  Reaper
  8. Wish him well. Slight bridge burn but not a big fire. Hope he lands on a team. Bring on Butler's Licklighter!
  9. Hey! I liked the blog. It clearly shows both sides of the coin. Opinion is not warranted here. It's meant to clarify what ADW is going through. To those of us that want change, it descibes what the options are. If it remains status quo, will there be improvement. It's "deal or no deal." But in this case, it involves reality. Reaper
  10. Who the Blank cares if they were there or not. The main thing is, is that we keep winning. Winning will be our boast!!! Reaper
  11. It's not the AD. it's the $$$$ issue. Can't get quality if you are willing to spend bargain basement prices.
  12. Sorry...I know, no yelling, it does no good.  But when repeated instruction fails what am I to do? (Brad's quote) Sounds a little like Mac, doesn't it?  Sorry Brad, had to do it!!!  Reaper
  13. I guess! But tell me how long we have to be not anxious? The turnstyles tell the real story!
  14. Brad I guess that's the difference between HS and College. My parents SEE the improvement, encourage the team and coaches, and support. Where can you say we have seen improvement in the last couple of years for B Ball. I guess I am blind, because I sure don't see it. In any event, if Mac is teaching, someones not listening. Maybe that's why he yells! Can't blame him then. I'd be frustrated too! Oh and a little blurb here too. We had 9 players last year for our Baseball team and won 2 games vs. 14. This year we have 18 kids, have won 5 out of 8 with a 23 game schedule. I guess, we coaches at TBCA are doing something right with our coaching style! Hopefully we will continue. Reaper
  15. Yeah Brad. 5 errors! A hell of a lot better than the ten plus, and it's going down. Yes, we as coaches DO have to get on kids for continually doing wrong things. That's not the point. Patience and instructions wins. Yes I DID play football and had a heck of a good coach. Leo did yell, but then he took you aside and instructed. After that, if you still messed up, it's your fault. Silly no, pat on the back, lot's encouragement, tons. Yelling some but at a minimum. Instruction...PRICELESS!
  16. Cmon Cuban! You and I know what it is like to coach. Benching a kid for the last game is not discipline. Unless he is in it for bad academics, he then needs to be benched. But maybe,( And I think this is a pretty good thought, judging by past expirience with Mac) he may have expressed displeasure about something said by Mac to him. This is just frustration. Let a kid vent. Why keep the punishment attitude up. It's not working!!! I have seen may practices and heard Mac berate players. It's like if they do not get it the first time, he's off the wall. Patience, patience, patience. That you and I know get's the point accross. Heck, my baseball team was committing 10 errors a game. Sure I was mad, but we practiced on the errors. We taught technique, and fundamentals. Had the patience to instruct, not just yell. Now we have cut that amount in half. Still not perfect, but we are getting there. Mac has had extra time this year to work with the players.(The summer Europe trip). And still the team lacks fundamentals in certain areas. Man if this is not a lack in coaching, tell me what is?
  17. Even though Mac has his principles, benching a kid who has done about everything all season is rediculous! It is not a learning expirience for life, it is demorilization. How can players play at their level, only to fear retribution for let's say farting, questioning direction, or putting a stop to constant yelling in one's face instead of patience and instruction. I hope and wish Mac well. Maybe his style is best suited for the penal leagues.
  18. Hoping to come after my Tampa Bay Christian Academy game against Keswick. I prob will still be in Uni! Reaper
  19. hey! I was being serious! I did not know that the NIT had the .500 percent rule. I was hoping that we still had an outside chance, even albeit our lousy performances the last 5 games? Our biggest nemisis is not Mac, but turnovers!!! And besides, I am on cold meds right now and really don't know where I am!!!
  20. Do we stand even a snowball in hell's chance at an at large bid in the NIT?
