Today was like owning a stock that goes up like 10,000% and then watching it drop 50% in one day.

It's definitely up overall but that one day hurts.

It's good to keep a big picture perspective.

This season was the first time this program ever even GOT to the AAC semifinals. Is losing that game fun? No. But, if we are ever going to win the AAC tourney, one first has to get to the semi's, and learn what that's like. The elder statesmen of the team can pass that down, and those expectations and that learning can continue in the halls of LRS and the YC in the offseason.

We have always punched up as an athletics program. We are going through the painful growing process of becoming a program that doesn't want to just punch up forever, but to live with the pressure of being the one with the target on it's back. The one that's favored, ranked, expected to win, whatever, and then goes out and does just that. That's hard to do in one single season, and hard to do consistently over many seasons.

I do hate today but we CAN win the NIT, and that'll be another "next" for this program. In football, Memphis will be tough but we can and should compete this year - that's another "next".

Chins up Bulls Nation. For the most part all the things we've been wanting to happen, are happening, but there will be bumps and learning and lessons along the way. But we seem to finally be trying to build this thing the right way.

Oh, and hopefully some actual, juicy rendering will be here in a few weeks.

Can we though?! I'm not spending any more money this season. I guess I'll try to be excited to watch the NIT, as some other teams decline their invites altogether.

No doubt that when we look back this will be viewed as a successful season.

How could you not be delighted with this season?  That was a tough physical game against UAB.  We fought hard.  Not making excuses but they had a good game plan and we were missing two key players in the post.  The technical fouls against us really hurt.  That was a 7 point swing and demoralizing.  Refs could have called two technicals on UAB, but they didn't.

Best combined football and basketball season I can ever remember.  I still have 3 kids living at home and typically they were uninterested when I would tune in a game.  That changed this year in both sports with all my kids excited to see USF on the TV.  Two of my three even went with me to Florida to watch the bowl game against Syracuse.  It was great.  Sure, we didn't make the NCAA and that stinks.  That aside, this was a great year and I always looked forward to the next game knowing the team would represent.  A lot of fun.

A lot of momentum for our entire athletics department. Hopefully revenue increases YoY a significant percent so we can afford nice(r) things.

What makes all this exciting is that (knocking on wood) a lot of players should be returning for next season in both football and basketball, so hopefully we will see some sustained success. Great year, and hopefully we can build on it.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
