Today was like owning a stock that goes up like 10,000% and then watching it drop 50% in one day.

It's definitely up overall but that one day hurts.

It's good to keep a big picture perspective.

This season was the first time this program ever even GOT to the AAC semifinals. Is losing that game fun? No. But, if we are ever going to win the AAC tourney, one first has to get to the semi's, and learn what that's like. The elder statesmen of the team can pass that down, and those expectations and that learning can continue in the halls of LRS and the YC in the offseason.

We have always punched up as an athletics program. We are going through the painful growing process of becoming a program that doesn't want to just punch up forever, but to live with the pressure of being the one with the target on it's back. The one that's favored, ranked, expected to win, whatever, and then goes out and does just that. That's hard to do in one single season, and hard to do consistently over many seasons.

I do hate today but we CAN win the NIT, and that'll be another "next" for this program. In football, Memphis will be tough but we can and should compete this year - that's another "next".

Chins up Bulls Nation. For the most part all the things we've been wanting to happen, are happening, but there will be bumps and learning and lessons along the way. But we seem to finally be trying to build this thing the right way.

Oh, and hopefully some actual, juicy rendering will be here in a few weeks.

You say that like winning the AAC tournament is some achievement. Uab, a school with a logo made on fiverr that never should have been added to this conference to begin with, and is nothing more than an embarrassment to every other school (just like the other 6 turds we added) just won it in their second season in this league.

If we actually deserve to go to the acc like some of you think we should be slapping down these ai generated teams in the AAC easily.

Let us enjoy it.

Rejected from a BCS conference

Passed over on P5 opportunities

In watered down cross between AAC leftovers and C-USA's best

But we won 20+ games that we were supposed to win.  That's a magnificent feat for us.

It was a fun season.  We still have to play it whether we like our new colleagues or not.  It doesn't resolve the conference problem, but enjoy the team winning!

The magnificent feat was winning 20+ games we weren't supposed to win ...... unless you had pancho in your name.

Not true.  The fact that in recent history we've lost most games we're supposed to win has led to a lot of confusion as to what expectations should be for our program.

The great thing about this season and these young coaches coming in and winning right away is that it defeats the false premise that its hard to win at USF, and that a turn around is a multi year preposition.

From this day forward we should only expect playoffs, NCAAT, bowl games, conference championships and winning seasons.

It's true we were picked 9th and weren't supposed to win 20 games, bottom line. Not gonna play the "expectation" game with you this time around ...

I don't think you ever play out any expectations.

So you trust the opinion of conference media that at didn't ask a question of CAAR?  Or is it opposing coaches you let set expectations for us?  That expectation of 9th is expectation of USF being USF.

Easily 20 wins on that schedule (for any moderately competent team) and CAAR got more than that.

We hadn't seen a moderately competent team in a while here. Got to side with Trip on this one.
