I’m a little conflicted on this. My mind says 100% you have to value your team and not set that example of letting him return. But my heart says let the teammates decide. Let this be the one time they have an example of “the grass isn’t always greener.” Use that as the one time example of allowing the prodigal son to return and use as a case study to others that are pondering leaving. He was a great teammate up until his departure. Unlike others that checked out early and it was obvious. I miss the quickness he provided when hitting the hole.

I agree with everything you said. I support CAG for his decision and maybe he did ask the team. Also, maybe if the team sees he wants to come back and was not allowed, it sends the same message. I think over time, the portal will show that the grass isn’t always greener, hopefully Mr. Brown takes note of this and stays his whole time with us.

Maybe a page from the Dabo playbook?😎 IIRC Dabo told commits that if they took another visit he would pull their offer.
100% trust Golesh’s decision.

I hope Brian finds another team that values him.  I am sure he will.  I am sure P5 programs want him bad but he is probably holding out for a better offer.

Good. I wanted Battie back, but this makes me happy. Way to go Coach.

Hopefully our QB doesn't get injured carrying the entire running game on his back.

Long term culture building over short term results.  I love this.

Good move. Imagine you're in our current RB room and you lose your spot on the depth chart to someone who quit the team.

Dude took the 6-figure payday and ran before ever really giving Goach a chance. Can't say I blame Goach for denying the return.

If he really did try and come back, I would have been good either way. Have to assume that CAG has a good enough handle on the team to make the right decision. Feel kind of bad for BB because he initially said he wanted to stay here but then was fed some fools gold leading to a bad decision. Just hope he doesn't end up on our schedule at some point ...

Would be happy to have Battie back but we have a full RB room of guys that CAG brought in - would be a tough sell to those guys. In CAG I trust. Battie should be able to find a good landing spot.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
