Look, my personal opinion; schools shouldn’t be able to pay players (or NIL, football is supposed to be an extracurricular activity), the players should be able to transfer when they want (they are free individuals). Schools shouldn’t be spending hundreds of millions on athletics facilities when they are a public funded university. All of that money should be used on academics and any extra should be paid back to the people of the state that help fund them. I absolutely love sports and competition; but we’ve lost cabin pressure and reality with college sports. All of the NIL, conference expansion, facilities war, it’s out of control. Ok, I’ll get off my soap box, haha.

honestly there is something wrong with coaches that get paid multi millions per year begging fans to pony up even more money for the players. it's time the schools start paying the players. they can take it out of the funds that pay coaches, athletic directors and ridiculous facility upgrades.

But then the ncaa and schools would be losing their profits. This nil is a wolf in sheep's clothing having the fans pay the players instead of the schools. It really isn't any different then the U handing out Brown bags of cash or Reggie bush  getting cars, houses, and cash. Bush should sue back for his Heisman.  He was just ahead of his time because was a free thinker.

To be fair, NIL was not intended to be "fans paying players" -- the crux of the court case was EA Sports using real names and likenesses of players in their games without paying for that.  So NIL was SUPPOSED to be for the actual use of name, image, and likeness - which typically falls under the umbrella of marketing and licensing.

The NCAA doesn't really have an answer for the fact NIL has morphed into "legalized" pay-to-play.

Great to see players that come from impoverished communities - who make their schools hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of dollars - get paid.

Democrats should be happy because it is (mostly) impoverished students are now making crazy bank for their labor.

Republicans should be happy because its the nature of capitalism. The bigger, wealthier schools will afford the best players. USA baby! (Just stinks when you are USF, and not UF or FSU, but c’est la vie).

This probably would have been a more apropos response to an article where a P5 coach is whining about it. Norvell doesn't get paid multi-millions and he's talking about an offer to his player that's 1/3 of his own annual salary.

There is no equal rights in CFB.  It's really an unjust system.  The NCAA is powerless and those with the money are running things.  Was EA Sports using NIL so terrible?  I truly don't know.

This is an old school definition of Republican and Democrat.  The corporate masters have captured both.
