Our Defense for 2023 might be a sleeper

We have 12 P5 and 2 G6 transfers (who played a lot) on our defense. I feel our defense is going to be waaaaaay better this year. We finally have multiple 300Ib DTs and may get 1 more before it's all said and done.

DE -

• Vaughn, Jason JR - 8.5 tackles for loss (-34 yards) and five sacks (-24 yards) last year
• Jonathan Ross (Bowie State) - 3.0 tackles for loss, two sacks, and 1 quarterback hurry last year
• Logan, Tramel SO -5.5 tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks & 2 quarterback hurries last year
• Derrick Harris Jr. (Texas)
• Immanuel Hickman (ECU)
• Lloyd Summerall (UF)
• Rico Watson (FSU as a walk-on/Robert Morris) - At Robert Morris, he played in 11 games and had 42  tackles, 10.5 (-42) TFLs and 5(-29 ) sacks, 1  forced fumble,  1   Interception, and 1 pass deflected.

This was our D-line last year that actually played. They didn't play a lot of dudes which baffled me. 

@Jim Johnson our defense was always tired due to only playing like half the players. We are way deeper this year. We have replaced 6 of our primary d-line and the ones that are coming back provided a lot of value last year. This is NOT the same defense.

They'll be better just because they can't really be worse. For Jeff Scott's 3 years they let up 38.6 PPG and were a bottom 10 defense.

If they just had the 100th best defense that would be around 30 PPG. Do that and I'll be happy with Golesh's year 1 efforts on that side of the ball. I think that could get us 5-6 wins
