I was talking about this with a buddy a couple weeks back and his hypothesis was that Brown is our QB1 and Gerry is back for another year to be a backup and work on his coaching chops. Definitely makes sense.

Our QB situation is looking good. In addition, Golesh recruited the QB position well. I know Bohanon is injured right now, but in Fall it will be an interesting battle between Bohanon and Brown to see who the starter is.

$2 million dollar penalty per home game penalty if not open for '26 season.  $12 million in penalties seems really low if the stadium opens a year late.  This encourages the contractor to do a benefit/analysis on the futre purchase of materials.  It should be higher.

$12 million out of $22 million is weak ?

So we are paying $22 million just for the plans?

The $22 million includes:

• $14.8 million for design and preconstruction (clearing and levelling land)
• $3.9 million for other planning, like land surveys, geological studies and parking
• $2.3 million for design contingencies in case USF asks for something unexpected (like space for the hospitality management program, potentially)

Ok so who is our official source for rendering leaks over the next 12 months?

We might get renderings earlier than that.

Populous will meet with students, alumni, community members and other stakeholders over the next month to learn what elements they want and need in the facility. The conversations do not have to be limited to sports.

...

Populous will hear all the ideas, design some of them and price them out over the next 10 months or so.

I believe that's the overall penalty for construction delays of one year so more like out of $300-$350 million.

If w play the last six at home it gives 'em a buffer and the proposed massive shade screen won't be such an issue.

Good to see now that we will 100 percent get a new stadium in the not too distant future. I have to be honest that I was skeptical until now as to whether it would happen. Kudos to Kelly for this. Cant wait to see what it will look like.

 Excited about USF's future.

Thanks Jim. Can we start a serious Needs/Wants/Wishes thread that can be extended to admin/Populous? :)

(serious meaning any comment not providing ideas / constructive feedback should be deleted. Make it templated like the game day predictions threads)

For a $200 mil stadium, the "profit" made by the firm that is subcontracting out all of the work cannot possibly be that high.  All the people they hire need to make a profit also, stadiums ain't cheap to build.  And $2mil is $2mil.  No one wants to pay that.

Completely agree with all points made however, a good firm and contractor will find a way to roll a substantial amount of these liquidated damages in their initial proposal and set them as contingencies. Just looking at 1 game that is 1% of the overall budget. In many instances, an oversight in the initial proposal may cost as much and possibly even more.

That said, there is no doubt that the construction firm will want to and will succeed but I feel that these penalties are not that high all things considered.

Either way who cares let's get the **** thing built!!!! Go Bulls!!! We are finally getting a stadium!!!
