I should add that CAG follows Patrick on Twitter and that there is no obvious coaching connection between the two of them and Kevin Patrick has removed FAU references from his Twitter profile and hasn't retweeted anything FAU related in the last week. I think he might be the guy.

That's some stellar research!

I really feel this to be a **** hire; this bring said.... If he puts together a solid staff, recruits the portal and HSs well, I'll bite my tongue and give him the benefit of the doubt.

Coach Patrick is one of the more intense coaches around. He would be awesome as a D line coach. Haven’t followed him recently to know how he would be as a DC.

He's never been given the opportunity to be a DC, but he has a ton of experience and could be up for the job. Maybe he only comes in as a d-line coach, but I would be willing to give him a shot as a coordinator.

I rather BJM as our DC.

It just doesn't line up with the comment that CAG made today that he "tried to get him twice before". I bet BJM is pretty happy at Tennessee right now and committed to helping them win their bowl game. CAG said that we would probably hear about the DC hire today, so I just don't think it will be him.

This is a good find.  Patrick is still following FAU according to his Twitter but his profile indicates no affiliation right now. Very well could be the guy at DC for us.

Would like Patrick as a D line coach, idk about a DC.

Golesh did refer to the hire as "the best DC in the nation". If it ends up being a first time DC it'll feel like we we're getting smoke blown up our ass. Don't think he makes that comment unless the DC has successful coordinator experience

Remember when hiring the DC from a successful FAU team didn't work out? Well I guess by using opposite logic, hiring a lower-tier defensive coach from an unsuccessful FAU team 100% has to work out!
