Hypothetically if we're looking for a new coach after the season

I would like to thank you for giving me a reason to use the CJL emoji lol I don't hate these guys, but I rather have some new blood. It's like CFB recycles the same coaches over and over again.

at this point it could just take one big win (like this weekend) to turn the page and start seeing winning seasons again. That would be awesome to see...... Pointing back to a singular game and saying "that was the pivotal moment" for our program.

The issue is, we have to score points to get that big win. i'm not entirely convinced that is possible again FBS opponents....

I would have lots of instant happiness and future fun if we beat UF.

I was somewhat amused to see Rich Rod had scratched his way from the Yankees of College Football (West by God Virginia) to the head man at Jacksonville State.

let's be honest here. UF will NEVER hear the end of it, if we beat them.

it would be a hall of fame victory for the Bulls to beat the Florida Gators at the swamp after having 1 FBS win in 2+ years.

Exactly. Rich Rod i will always remember for the way his WVU team that was bound to play in the BCS title game choked against Pitt. He went downhill after that season tbh. Same with Tom Herron who should of stayed at Houston. He ended up doing about the same job as Charlie Strong did at Texas. USF needs a better mindset than to hire another retread imo.

Lol which is why it is not happening. Not sure when USF will eventually turn things around but I don’t see it happening tomorrow. I just hope our players learn from the experience and keep improving as the season goes on. Thankfully there will be more winnable games this season once they figure things out. Go Bulls!!

As far as retreads go Tom Herman may be the best option.

  • Houston 3 years before Herman: 5-7, 8-5, 8-5
  • Houston with Herman: 13-1, 9-3 (6-0 vs ranked opponents, 3-0 vs top 10 opponents)

  • Texas 3 years before Herman: 6-7, 5-7, 5-7
  • Texas with Herman: 7-6, 10-4, 8-5, 7-3 (finished ranked last 3 seasons, 8-6 vs ranked opponents in those 3 seasons)

Never has had a season that wasn't better than the situation he took over. Has proven he can beat good competition at multiple stops. 5-1 in bowl games. Was Ohio State's OC when they averaged 48 PPG through the Big 10 championship, playoffs, and natty with a 3rd string QB.

I will drag my couch out in the street and set it in fire in a one man drunken celebration of a miracle.

That would be unfortunate, however being outside would help mitigate the smoke inhalation and the flame would awaken me prior to perishing.  I still believe this to be a safe and constructive activity in most situations, however thank you for the concern.
