Leipold having success at 2 FBS rebuilds now makes me think there's probably a few other D2 and D3 coaches that are way better than some FBS candidates at actually knowing how to put guys in the right position to succeed, but they don't have the connections to start out on an FBS coaching staff.

I could be wrong, but the coach of West Florida's wiki bio makes me think he would be better than Scott at least. Has coached 2 teams starting programs and each time broke the record for fastest D2 team to make the playoffs so he knows how to build from the ground up quickly.

Although not crazy about these conversations at this point, I'd go with a program rebuilder rather than a program builder. It's sometimes easier to build from scratch than from already in a hole you have to dig out of.

Doesn't hurt to hire someone who has won a national championship as a head coach.

So you are saying you want Urban? Pretty of classy ladies on Dale Mabry for him to cozy up with. Yes I know he is never coming here.

Tyson Helton from WKU might be a good fit.

Know it wasn't as a head coach but didn't we pick up a guy from Valdosta State as a coordinator who won a Nat'l title?

Kerwin Bell.
But he was only here for a year under Chuckles while the program was in shambles.
He’s at Western Carolina as HC now, we’ll see how he does.
