Hopefully the coach at that time is better prepared for FBS openers.

I'd take this bet. I'm thinking 3 scenarios are possible: If he continues to struggle the way he is struggling now, then he'll be gone (this would be another failed/fired coach on the payroll. bad.) If he wins the AAC, the he'll be gone. (Hired by a P5 somewhere who just fired their coach. I don't think it will happen, but I'd take it.) Only way he stays is if he makes the climb to mediocre level and can get to bowl games and keep us competitive in the conference on an annual basis (and we settle for that for years) I want Jeff Scott to succeed badly, but the trend right now is toward scenario #1. 1

Anyhow, with any luck we'll be at the big boy table for the 2026 season. Following the pattern of teams like UCF and Cincy who got their act together after some losing years, it should go like this: 2023 - Will be a rebuilding year under a new HC so expect a lot of losses 2024 - We'll hopefully be flirting with .500 if the new HC is competent 2025 - We'll hopefully go bowling 2026 - Everything will hopefully be clicking, and we will compete for conference title. (This would be an awesome scenario for our first year in the OCS). If 2026 is then our potential first year being a solid football team, I wouldn't expect us to be in a major conference yet. But there is always hope. We definitely would need to hit the reset button and cut the dead weight sooner rather than later.

Are they practicing in a indoor practice facility with where the thermostat is not simulating game time conditions? If they truly believed in practicing in current conditions why would they need an indoor setup? Just play outside. Everybody is too comfortable these days and wants things easy.
