If we were making a binary plus/minus tally board he would be on the minus side with whatever you believe is holding him back more than any other coach we have had or any other coach that is currently coaching. He isn’t uniquely challenged and the only reason anyone pretends that he is has more to do with his results and how he handled the challenges than it does with the actual challenges themselves, almost as if he is the challenge.

Therein lies the problem and why there is no need for further debate on this matter. There are many that believe that he was uniquely challenged vis-à-vis most of his contemporaries and definitely more so than the coaches that came before him. You and your ilk do not believe that to be the case.

How about the forward momentum on the facilities? Better engagement with the fanbase? Seemingly doing well in the transfer portal? Bringing former players back into the mix to create some continuity and pride?

He is in the 40’s In transfers mostly driven by volume which contributes to a blended recruiting in the 70’s, that’s where you see hope? The best thing he can do to help the people who’s job it is to upgrade the facilities is to do his job.

Because it doesn’t stand up to any scrutiny, what’s a way you think he has it harder than anyone at either capacity? He has uniquely failed but results don’t mean that he was more challenged it has to factor for him and some degree of responsibility. If coaches are all just fortunes fools and driven by the stars there really is no reason to pay them $3 million dollars for what the G-d’s will will anyway.

I blame the coordinators that he brought with him. If he fails again, then I blame him.

Kelly gets the credit on the facilities, and the jury is out on the transfer portal. His line of BS will wear thin if they aren’t markedly improved this year.

But who told him bringing in two unemployed former coordinators from FAU for both of his positions was a good idea? Certainly most people had to recognize that would look extremely lazy and was unlikely to pay off, probably someone else’s fault though because he also was forced to keep the job he just quit rather than putting any actual effort into building the program he was designing.

For a team, program, and coach that are as terrible as you view them to be, I would say being in the 40th percentile would be outperforming your expectations, no?

In his defense, he may not have started his job with us after he accepted it for a couple weeks but he really didn’t do **** with Clemson either in preparation for the big game during those two weeks.  He was simply double dipping and getting paid for both jobs while doing them both poorly if at all.

It does stand to scrutiny, you just don't want to hear it because you have a different opinion. I will say that you have an exceptional grasp on utilization of the straw man fallacy.

Jeff Scott will be the first coach in USF history with 3 losing seasons.

In a row! Nonetheless.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
