I truly think the negative media bias locally has a strong correlation with the reputation surrounding USF sports. Obviously the results have a more profound effect, but you would think we were a P5 school the way we are scrutinized. We are in the 20th season of having a football program for goodness sake. There should be a constant buzz of excitement for the potential not only in the short term, but long run around town. I feel like USF athletics is fighting an uphill battle posting all the positives and encouraging material on social networks, only to be overshadowed by the negative press our own deadbeat writers spew around. This community is influenced by what the media says, especially because we don't have the long term/die hard fans yet. Just look at the perception locally for USF vs schools like BYU, Utah, SDSU. App State etc get in their local communities.

Fennelly: What USF Should and Shouldn't Say to the Big XII

It isn't a TOTAL tar and feather job of USF this time. Suggests that USF and UCF work together, and while nodding at low first game attendance, recognizes that there's more to the equation.

I don't know why everyone is under the impression that USF only gets in with UCF...

That has NEVER been a stipulation before... ever.

Heard Big 12 asked for a high level of detail about local airports. And detailed reports about all sports programs.
  1. Sounds like the Big 12 is going to get all its face-to-face meetings in this week. Candidates are bringing presidents and a mountain of info

It's simple they're sports writers so, naturally their ignorant about sports. The fact that USF has the best overall Athletics Program as well as Football team would never occur to them.

Feeling good about our airport and other sports programs (except MBB, but I'm sure we'll address the situation as best we can).

Tom Jones: USF's Big XII Hopes Damaged by Small Crowd for Towson

See what I mean?

(1) Appears to rely on actual instead of announced for USF, but announced for everyone else (although I haven't confirmed this)

(2) How does he know whether USF hopes have been damaged due to one game's attendance?

Don't waste your time on the opinion of that illiterate douchebag. Guy is a joke of a writer. This is the quality you can expect from the TBT.
