He may have been advised that he could get a camp invite by a team and decided to pursue that as an undrafted free agent. I have no idea, but it would be a good explanation for his decision now, after going through Spring practice. Whatever he does, I wish him the best in his future endeavors!

He didn't punt in the Spring game so maybe decision was already made by then ...

There was no better time in Usf history to be a punter, it’s no wonder he is tired.

Nice.  It seems USF football is the perfect proving ground for punters.  If I'm not mistaken, Tony Umholtz was our first football All-American.  I remember going to Lexington to watch the Wildcats rip us but Tony's boomers made him the only player the locals around me were lusting after.  Back in those days, their QB was bigger than most of our linemen.

Could be. I was purely speculating, but the timing would make sense. Regardless, good luck Mr. Schneider!

Because I mentioned him a couple of months ago.

Scott's not worried - he isn't planning on having to punt this season!

He's going to have a tough act to follow. Had no idea the type career Trent had here ....

2020 Ray Guy Award Watch List
2020 William V. Campbell Trophy Candidate
2019 CoSIDA Academic All-American
2020 Athlon Preseason All-Conference Second Team
2020 Phil Steele Preseason All-Conference Third Team
Owns six USF punting records and on pace for at least three career marks

Entering the 2021 season, Schneider currently owns six USF punting records and is on pace to hold nearly every punting mark at USF. He has started 33 games, punted 177 times (4th all-time) and amassed 7,765 yards (3rd all-time) while posting a 43.9 yards per punt career average (1st all-time) – all on pace for USF career records...set a Bulls record with a 46.0 yards per punt average in 2019, posted a season yardage mark with 3,266 punting yards and broke the single-game punting average record four times in 2019, including 52.8 ypp on five punts in a 27-23 victory over BYU...in 2018, he banged a 72-yard punt vs. East Carolina to set the mark for the longest punt in USF history and his 74 punts that year set a season record...… he holds the first, second, third and fourth spots for single-game punting average in USF history, all set during the 2019 season, and has recorded 51 punts of 50 yards or longer...his 129 punts without a block streak (2018-19) is the second-longest in Bulls' history.

I did not pay much attention to the punting in the spring game, but it is my understanding the new Aussie was booming them ridiculously long and high in spring practice.  No idea, obviously, of his consistency.

Regardless, thank you Schneider, you did good.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
