I am medium serious. I just think it’s odd that people say we can’t be independent because of money and fan support and yet in the same breath say we have no money and no fan support. The AAC has proven itself to be a recipe for failure for us and while independent probably is too I don’t really understand what we have to lose, what’s the difference between losing $5 million a season and losing $8 million a season and what’s the difference between having 10k people in the stands and having 8k people in the stands? Why not roll the dice?

It would be tragic to leave a P6 conference

Losing money is losing money and it’s not like you can bank $3 million less losses and pretend it’s profit, in order to be profitable drastic changes are required.

You get into the eggnog early?

I do not like eggnog. Give me Scotch, IPAs or give me death.

Single malts?  And when would you like Guido at your place to take care of that last part?

Yes preferably Laphroaig, and the sooner the better on the last part.

People will not want to play us like BYU. They are a national brand.

Not to mention,  many members of a major religion follow them.  I know from living out west, they are almost as popular as Utah, Arizona, and Arizona St. are in their own states. Sadly, we aren't even the most popular just outside of Raymond James.

To back up the scheduling issue you mentioned, I saw where Liberty (Ind) played New Mexico St (Ind) twice this season.  I think we all know why.

I think it is more than that. In 2016 at 8-1 in our last home game before we played in Orlando we only drew 26k. We were winning and scoring and not drawing crowds.

I'm not sure what game you are talking about since our last 2 games before Orlando were on the road, but our Oct 28 game vs. Navy in which we were 7-2 and coming off a loss to Temple on the road, our attendance was almost 32K.  That's pretty good for a G5 team and up over any home game from 2015 considerably so over most.   "Attendance issues" are a false narrative

Correct it would be terrible as an independent. Just watch what happens to Uconn in the next t four years.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
