At the end of the day, yes. I can imagine legitimate reasons that 2.0 was passed on which perhaps could not be said publicly. The CJL camp will never sit right with how 1.0 ended, but averting a 2.0 may have been strongly considered and ultimately passed upon (which is what I hope is true, now looking back). But I also hope it was for darn good reasons and not solely the relentlessly off-the-cuff naysayer mentality eschewed by the TDS crowd. In the end, the point is moot. Coach Scott is our future and that's that.

And he got fired and served his time.  What's your point?

Especially ones who got a settlement kicking them to the curb forever.

I hate going around and around on this and I know Brads response. Maybe they wanted to fire him for not winning a conference title and used that as their reason/excuse.

Brad's response: They should have had the cojones and then just fired him straight up.

And that is a legit argument but I don't think it changes the fact they wanted him gone.

No way. They were trying to save some money by firing that way. It was one of the reasons that both sides had to settle after CJL sued

Couldn't agree more with you. I've also been privy to information I cannot elaborate on that CJL was a non-starter for at least one very influential BOT member. I do not know where he was in the list of priorities, only that he was indeed considered, which I am thankful to MK for. Scott is the best I can imagine within reach for us without Leavitt, but I cannot help but feel this was an opportunity missed out on. It remains to be seen whether this will have been the right decision.

Only way we can right this ship is to win a conference title. This has to be the home run hire that USF is due for in football. 10-2 seasons won’t cut it unless that comes with a championship.

Given the movie it's derived from, that's incredibly innocuous.

If we go 10-2 and win a conf championship, that's not righting a ship, it's building a new one ...

11-2, a conference championship, and an I-4 beatdown works for me. Then KB can coach the bowl game while CJS heads to greener pastures and @puc86 goes off the deep end.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
