people who think that just because Florida as a state has a ton of football talent seem to forget that players are allowed to leave the state. Most of the really good players do or play for the P5 teams. We have some fans who over estimate our general talent level-- constantly saying things like "we have the best talent in the entire AAC" or "with our talent, any coach should be able to win here". Not true of our talent level-- we get some good guys sure but check our recruitment class rankings. It is a huge deal if we land even a 4 star recruit while other teams are loaded with 5 stars. Those rankings may be suspect on some players but they are fairly accurate.

We are in a rebuilding year-- and starting to face injuries and other stuff that happens in any season. While that doesn't excuse our play in this or any game, it does give you some perspective if you are realistic fan who doesn't over do it when it comes to expectations.

As far as CCS is concerned-- I don't know what you expect him to do exactly but simply hitting the delete button every time we lose a game is not the answer. What coach will want to come here if you fire a winning coach-- even if the wins are against losing teams? I'll tell you-- you will get guy who have trouble getting hired at P5 schools-- sort of how we ended up with CCS to begin with.

He has no pocket awareness because there is no pocket. It gets pushed into his face instantly. There is zero protection every down. He can't read his progressions because he's running for his life constantly. We cannot even block on extra points ffs. This teams issue ues are coaching and lack of talent on both lines.

College football is a QB driven game.  We were good the last few years not because of our defense but because of Quinton Flowers and the playmakers around him.  USF needs to find a DT QB and change to a spread type offense.  Not this veer and shoot that relies on a power running game.  It’s what our recruiting allows us to do best.

veer and shoot is when you throw outside the numbers and run inside the tackles. they want to throw wide to setup the run.unfortunately that negates our greatest advantage which is speed. getting players in space should be our top priority.

No pocket then roll out.....awareness.  He isnt the only issue but he isnt the answer. 

Hope he improves or there is another all out QB competition.

Just like I wasn't on the fire Tags bandwagon in year 2 I'll avoid that bandwagon in Strings 2nd year. Ya'll really need to temper your expectations, the games are a lot less gut punchy when you aren't expecting a team that just lost the highest producing QB in history to gi undefeated. 

 

Edit: the fact that I was "meh" about the Strong hire and still dont want him fired, yet those that lauded the hire do is hilarious to me. Keep doing you TBP.
