Yeah it's not worth the risk of the unknowns.  And Maryland is quite a known risk on top of that.

The real question for CCS is do they have and OCS and IPF.

Let's be fair.  Rutgers is the bottom program.

One of the most deserving programs in the country for that status.

True, but IMO, Publix is starting its downward slide. I actually had a sandwich the other day and was like, meh. Now dont get me wrong, its still #1 but i'm guess there was a time when Winn Dixie was #1 as well.

I had a ex-co-worker talk all sorts fo trash when Rutgers left and I told him then enjoy your bowls now, cause no soup for you in the future. Of course he was all, well, look at all the money we get, and I was like, jah, but I'm a happier fan cause I get to watch my team beat somebody in my conference!

At any rate, I understand the money argument but from a fan perspective I'd rather be a big fish in a small pond than a microbe in a big pond. At least in the small pond the big fish gets noticed.

I've been having a great time watching CCS go 17-4, sooooo much better than 4-17

I do need the Bulls to get to 9 wins though for, uhem, various reasons

He would be a good hire if they have the cash.

Strong is a good coach

I would keep my eyes on UNC and Gt. If Maryland offers, he is gone!

I think UNC still has delusions that their football program can match the success of their basketball program.   They will try their hand at another "hot" up and comer even though their ceiling as a program is probably 9-10 wins due to their conference and the limited football talent in NC.

Charlie's age will scare some programs away as the current trend is to hire young guys with "fresh ideas" and big personalities.    I think ultimately the biggest threat for CCS will be programs like Vandy (if it opens) or GaTech who know their academic requirements won't ever let them win their conference but would be ecstatic to win 8-9 games year in and out without winning their conference  while running a clean program or a team like Maryland that needs to make a hire that sends the right kind of message after the PR nightmare they are going through.

All of this is moot though if we lose any more than 2 of the upcoming games.   Nobody is coming calling unless we finish the year strong.
