I don't want Charlie to leave, but we also need to be realistic. He is going to have P5 offers coming up. While Maryland right now is a bad situation, but any coach heading there can ask for a contract that compensates for the bad situation. Look at USF MBB, when we hired Brian Gregory we were in a bad place, no stability, NCAA investigation, the likely hood that the whole team would transfer away. He got a contract that compensated for those factors. Much the same way the next Maryland coach will likely do. That gave Gregory job security and the freedom to go into rebuild mode and not have to fear for his job.

DJ Durkin was only making $2.5m at Maryland. Maryland is no Ohio State or Alabama, so I can't see them paying CCS much more than what they were paying Durkin.

Anyone with a working brain would take the deal Charlie got from Texas....why did he leave UofL.  Why stay at a low paying G5 job like USF with no chance of playing for the National Championship?

There's your answer, then. No coach would take the Maryland job for a 3%-5% raise. No person would take a raise that little for a ******** job in any profession.

LOL When you move away from Florida you really appreciate it more lol While Georgia isnt that bad, i miss the beaches, palm trees and hot and muggy weather lol
