It’s just flat embarrassing to know the QB/ RB is telling you “ hey we’re gonna run right down your throat “ and you take it . We have played to every teams offense rather than tell them there gonna play to our defense.

Hopefully the coaches are telling them that...I knew Pindell was running the draw on the third and long...he can't pass for Christ sake!!!!  Now, King can pass...hopefully their heads are right

Listen offense yards mean nothing unless you punch it in. Drives stall far to often.

If you get a point for every 16 yards you are about where you need to be.

Exactly, but given that this is not UConn, Tulsa, or UMass we are up against, we will probably see a sense of urgency much earlier vs. Houston. This could end up looking something like our game vs. UCF last year, hopefully with us coming out on top this time.

If we play like we did most of the season this game will be over by halftime. Hou is going to try to smash us in the mouth early and run away and hide. We must have ball control and run the clock as our D is on shaky ground right now.

How did I come up with that?

If you drive 80 yards you expect points. 7 or at least 3. Split the middle to 5. 80/5 is 16.

You are likely correct here. I am hoping for the best, and Houston, even though they are a definite step up for us, is certainly not Alabama. I can't see us stopping them with any consistency, but our Offense should be able to put up points on them as well. Would love for us to show that we can beat somebody worth a **** finally...

Our red zone efficiency is terrible this year per the eye test (i don't know the stats). And we've had so many drives that end on 4th and 1 it feels like.

It's bad this season and it was bad last season.  We refuse to attack outside the hashes in the red zone so teams just pack it in the middle of the field and dare us to beat them inside the hashes.....Which is what Gilbert inevitably tries to do.

This is why Gilbert's offenses are usually so productive between the 20's but struggle in the red zone.  His offensive philosophy requires the threat of the deep shot to be truly efficient.  Briles, Babers etc who have been very good with the same offense because when the back of the end zone removes the threat of the deep shot they force the defense to stretch laterally to compensate for it, Gilbert doesn't...    Also throwing away 1st and goal by running tempo and handing the ball off inside (read or not) when everyone in the stadium knows it's coming doesn't help either.....
