And I'm sure it's been mentioned somewhere, but they played a pretty vanilla defense. Essentially just let ours guys match up against their guys and out man them without any wrinkles.

I actually mentioned it earlier.  When did you get into my head? We used to not agree on anything...

Seriously though, that's exactly what he did.  Not a lot of gaming or blitzes... even on offense they kept it pretty simple.  I am actually pretty pleased with the starting offense and defense... I think once everyone gets into the flow, it will be much better.  Biggest improvement will be from game 1 to 2...

****, he's little ....

He's just so good... he's kinda yoked though.  I noticed he's not a skinny small guy, he's put together. He's going to fill out and he's going to be a problem for a lot of teams.  I think he's going to end up being the PR.

Linebackers coaching experience: the man knows how to stop runs.

Yes, but do we have more than one serviceable LB on the roster?

Unrelated note... but I'm watching Alabama - Louisville and the Louisville commercial has a sweet Papa John cameo in it. They might want to edit that.

they are just getting the fans ready for a bunch of 'L's

and to further weaken that "youngest team" argument-- App State is I think the 3rd youngest and they came close to upsetting Penn State on the road today.

It's freaking college.  How big of a difference could the ages be?  I get having to put a bunch of true freshman on the field vs. a senior laden team, but come one

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
