Judy Steps Up for USF Athletics

She is a HOF President.  Last time we ran into each other at the Marshall Center she gave me a hug and asked my daughter (by her name) how things were in Philly.  She has been great for USF.

Wow. And I thought she was generous when she gave my son a T-shirt (that he missed out on from the T-shirt cannon) at a basketball game.

Right? I mean that guy would hardly look you in the eye when talking to you. And I know he's tall but he would literally and figuratively talk down to you.

Plus you know, that little pre-eminent academic thing. As my boss said, we're probably equal to FSU academics now if not better. Our research and academics have soared.

Reminds me of a story my wife tells about Judy following a student with another tag on the car and waiting for them to park. She asked if she was a student, then gave her some USF swag for the car. Judy said she always keeps something handy for just such occasions.

You are spot on!! If you look at how our university has grown athletically and academically, it's astounding; and she is a huge part of that. It seems like every year, our academic rankings climb and our university achievements grow. Judy has always had good energy and though she makes mistakes like we all do, she's done a phenomenal job overall.

Judy lost me when she didn't stick up for CJL.

She's always campaigning for USF. Give me a president that energetically goes to bat and loves the school like she does--minor mistakes and all. Her pros/cons balance is not even close, she's been a win for the school since she took office.

To be fair, I think most of us were frustrated with CJL's predictable offense, QB draws and conference collapses, and that incident was a way to get a change. In hind sight, not the best move; but, if Skippy would have worked out like we all thought he would, nobody would bring up CJL. I don't blame her for that at all, especially at that time there were a few coaches getting the ax because of player mistreatment, and it made USF look bad.
