Yup, last decent/win over a ranked opponent before that was ND in South Bend. But I would say beating a ranked team (in the CFP and AP) who was 8-1 and lost to a ranked ND by 4 is a good win. They were better than us going into that game on every measurable level. Edited March 28, 2018 by Bull Dozer

Q was a special dual-threat talent adjusting to a modified offense. If Kean gets the nod, how will his skill set (throw first, run only if necessary) mesh with Gilbert’s playcalling? No one can replace Q, but if Oladokun gets the nod, are we looking at an attempt at Q 2.0 in terms of playcalling? Or will it even matter who takes the ball from center? I remember that win but it is muted by the fact we only won one more game after that win. What a terrible season...

What a terrible season... We actually won 4 more games, with 5 of the 7 losses being by a touchdown or less ..... the following year was the dagger. Ahhh...you are right. My bad. That whole Holtz experience made the years run together...one day I will put it out of my mind.

It feels like his entire tenure was non-stop pain, bad play calls, bad game management and a whole lot of saved time outs. The pain of the last years erased that there was that first pretty good year.
