Curious, personally, do you enjoy the games more when USF goes up against a big-name program or it doesn't matter?

What about Cincy this week? Does it matter that they are in a down year? What if they were in the top 25?

I'm asking because the hot topic in recent weeks has been attendance numbers.

I was watching the replay of Boise State against BYU. BYU was at home with a 1-4 record and their fans packed the place. Amazing. If USF were 1-4, there would be 10 people in the seats.

I think BYU has a completely different thing going on there. When you support BYU, you are supporting more than a school.

As to your question. I think the opponent plays a role. When we play Elon, I just hope we don't look bad and no one gets hurt. But I do enjoy winning against schools we have a history against. I would enjoy beating Southern Miss even if they were garbage.

I enjoy winning first and foremost. The better the opponent the sweeter the victory. Although in rivalry games, like I consider Cinci to be, I  don't think it matters as much. Bragging rights are fun no matter the records.

BYU has a long football history and several generations of fans. That's something we don't have yet.

Playing a ranked opponent adds to the excitement. Winning is fun, but better against teams that aren't awful.

I go to the games either way, but big name opponent by far. Not even sure why this is a question honestly.

Make that 11 people.....I go rain or shine. But, yes......schools that are famous always will get more butts in the seats.

Honestly, the only games I didn't used to look that forward to enjoying were ones where it was a foregone conclusion we'd win .... McNeese State cured me of that. Look forward now to just enjoying me some USF football, no matter who the opponent is.

BYU has a football culture, like a lot of big, and small, programs do ....... we don't. Hopefully one day but ......

I've never been to Provo, but I get the feeling that we could get a few members from this board on stage performing a really bad rendition of Caesar, and it would draw 30k there. Some College football programs just have less to compete with as far as things to do in their cities. Plus, there's the matter of tradition...

My brother lives in Park City and honestly I was shocked how awesome Utah was.

I would hope you consider Cincinnati our rival, this will be our 15th game against them all time.  Only 6 years in our existence that we haven't played them.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
