Just proves TB is a bandwagon city. They only show up if it matters and G5 does nothing for them Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Add New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, LA, Houston, Dallas, and Denver to list of bandwagon cities, too.

Exactly. That's why it's even worse when you see those cities unable to fill a stadium.

I know I have no time or inclination to have more than one team (USF SPORTS) to follow year round. I live in the land of Red Sox and Patriots and I rarely watch either. People watch/follow as many as one can but as one gets older it is difficult to have a full plate of leagues and teams to follow (at least for myself). Lightning have excellent attendance. Bucs do just fine when they field even a decent team. Rays play 20 miles away in another city. For some reason people in Tampa love hockey. Also, it makes it easier to appear to have great attendance when the stadium is only 20k seats...

Using Chicago is a bad example as you know as a Cubs fan that we support even during the bad years.

Plus TB has a lot of snow birds from Canada that love hockey so it is an easier sell.

BC support is not that good either as it supports what you are saying here

I know NO ONE in my circle of academic colleagues who are alumni there ever tell me they are going or have been to a BC game. Yet I hear this all the time for UMASS and UCONN (UMASS fans are tiny small and hard to find). Edited September 25, 2017 by NewEnglandBull
